On a road trip to Chicago for a concert and we had a bubble/sidewall blow out in Portage. We had to have the car towed to this location and this DT crew was absolutely wonderful. So happy to help us, got us in and out in 20 minutes and we were back on the road. Thank you Christian and your crew for all your help!!

I went to Discount Tire Portage on June 26th 2024 a hour before they closed 5pm. I did not have a tire rotation appointment. A salesperson or manager James took me in immediately after being busy with guests who had appointments. James was able to rotate my one front drivers tire to rear. He also gave me an amazing deal on $20 plus installation on a practically new Continental loaner tire when one of my tires was not safe to drive. I would rather much come here than Merrillville Discount Tire they are more professional and not rushed here in Portage.

Can’t give anything but 5 stars for them plugging my tire for free. Didn’t even buy the tire there. They slotted me right in, didn’t try and sell new tires or claim it was unfixable. Just plugged it and sent me on my way. Btw this is standard DT policy: plugging is for free regardless of where the tire came from.

So happy to have this place in the city I live in! They’re super knowledgeable, and kind. Service is quick and efficient. I’ve taken my mom’s vehicle there and mine. Today I called and asked if they do valve stem replacements, and they happily told me they do just to stop by at anytime and they will get it done. Dropped it off and it was ready a couple hours later. To my surprise free of charge! Not sure if they were just helping a girl out or if that’s a standard free service but I’m so thankful for them either way.

Price is very reasonable. They were upfront about the wait time and I appreciate the website that allows me to track the status of my vehicle. Everyone was very friendly. What really stood out is the exceptional customer service. Another customer needed to pick up his keys by 6:00pm because he had a commitment after that. Since the vehicle wouldn’t be done then and he needed the vehicle before morning, the team member (red shirt, black vest, with a beard on 5/29) went above and beyond to help this customer find a solution to get him his keys after hours. Wow!!! I will definitely come back!

Great quick service. Appointments get you in and out quicker but this is a great place for new tires, rotations, repairs.
