I do not usually write reviews, but Coyne is not a good vet. I have had poor experiences at the Portage location and the St. John location. The staff is rude, dismissive and condescending. The doctors do not take enough time to explain things, they recommend foods that have been recalled many times, and they told me not to wear too much black after I told them I was concerned about the unusual excess shedding from my dog. On multiple occasion they have run tests that I did not authorize and ended up having to pay for. They are unprofessional and seem to only want to do whatever they can to charge you as much as they can!

Very accommodating and vet/techs are always positive and playful with my dog. I'm glad they were able to see us as a walk-in when only taking appts. However, that info could be more readily available when I walked in as I wasn't informed until waiting a little while. Still great all-around which is why we keep coming back.

Please do not take your pet here. On a visit for a different reason, the Coyne vet informed us that our dog needed an eye "debridement" under anesthesia. The procedure traumatized our dog's eye and we had to take her to a specialist from Purdue, who informed us that our dog had a common autoimmune issue treatable by eye drops and steroids--and that the vet from Coyne should have never subjected her to a debridement procedure. Our dog's eye is permanently damaged because of the Coyne vet performing an unnecessary debridement procedure. We should not have trusted Coyne with the care of our dog and will always regret doing so.

I think Coyne-Portage overall is a wonderful location Unfortunately my experience with a groomer at this location has left me less than satisfied as she seems to always have an attitude. Her name is Kayla, I think she just needs to be reminded that attitude is key to customer service.

So grateful and thankful that I decided to bring my dog here to get checked out. The entire staff and Dr. Adams were so great with my dog and really listened to me when trying to figure out what was wrong with him during two different visits. They even called to check on him which I have never had a vet do before. Love this place!

Portage Coyne can get a little busy but, They will take great care of your furry kids! Liz is always going above and beyond for the client. Again be patient, well worth it. Thanks to all the staff at Coyne for taking care of my girls.
