I got a dress altered here and the whole experience was great. She got me in quickly and although I had a few things come up and was not able to pick it up on time she was so great and professional. I will definitely recommend and come back for future alterations

If I could give negative stars, I would. Extremely unprofessional. Does not seem to even know what she is doing. There is a STRONG chance she will steal your property and then gaslight you about it. Absolutely avoid that s business at all cost!

Unless you want your garments held hostage and the police to get involved, i wouldn’t recommend this place. I never received a quote for the MINOR alterations i asked forand when i called a few days later to ask about pricing she quoted me $650.She was insisting she needed to do extensive reworking to my wedding gown because she didn’t find it to be flattering on my body. I declined her recommendations and she refused to give me my dress back. I offered her $200 to stop working on it and give it back to me unfinished so i could take it somewhere else and she THREW MY GOWN ON THE FLOOR, stepped all over it, and locked it in a back room then proceeded to throw a temper tantrum like a child. She screamed at me for almost an hour as I calmly tried to come to an agreement with her just to get my dress back. I never refused to pay for the work that was completed or threatened her in any way, despite her claims.I was simply not paying $650 for work that was not done and that I did not ask for. Which in my opinion as a customer was completely reasonable of me.Given that there are multiple reviews from people claiming they were assaulted by this woman, i was scared honestly. She continued to get escalated when the police arrived, still refusing to return my garment to me. Plainfield Police told me they are there very often because this happens a lot apparently!!! During the arguments she called me fat, poor, uneducated, and even racist. It was all around a nightmare and she still ended up getting $350 from me for work that wasn’t completed. A week before my wedding.Additionally, she only accepts cash or venmo payments. I did some research on her and it turns out her wages are being garnished due to excessive small claims cases (i would assume for similar issues) and court fees that she still owes. These court cases go back to 2015 when she was working out of Marion county, you can view them on My Case her name is Hye Kim. Extremely shady. She is a scam artist. Do not use her services under any circumstances, you will regret it like i do.I hate to bash a small business owner, I love the community in Hendricks county and i frequently shop local but I can’t bear to see someone else go through what I did so I’m sharing my story.

I paid double the cost of my wedding dress to have it altered. She wasn't prepared for more than one of my appointments, and I had to reschedule after arriving. Despite telling her the lace trim for the waist that she kept pinning on for fittings was upside down....my final product, the lace trim was sewn on upside down. There also was an overlapping in lace in my sleeves that wasn't there when we started, which stood out to me like a sore thumb. It made a line in my lace sleeve. Did the dress fit much better, yes. Would I ever return? Absolutely not! I was in and out during prom season for my fittings, and others were often upset because she wasn't prepared for their fittings either.

Unprofessional and rude owner and horrible seamstress who doesn’t know up from down. If I could give this “business” zero stars I would. She is the most rude and unprofessional person I’ve ever met who owns a business. She doesn’t know how to properly sew something. My boyfriend brought material in and asked her to sew curtains approx 19x27. He left them with her over a week. When he came back to pick them up, she hasn’t started them. Said she’d have them the next day. She had them done the next day but didn’t have a price for him. He, not knowing costs of items like this, he said he had no idea. She charged him $95 for the curtain and a small valance and two for 1/2 inch tie backs. I have no idea if this is a good price had the work been professionally done. Regardless, he called me and sent me photos of the curtain (which is for a small travel trailer). She just folded the material over to do the back so the design (campers) are upside down. It’s ridiculous! When he took them back she said “I just folded it over…no one will see the back!” Really?! Because that’s what people see when you’re driving down the road. We have extra material and he asked her if she’d make it right. Yep, she would, but she would charge him to fix her sloppiness. He said he would take them elsewhere and left. I went over later in the week and showed them to her and asked her to fix them. She said she wouldn’t talk to me because she wasn’t dealing with me. She told me to leave them. I told her we aren’t paying anymore to have them fixed. She told me she wasn’t going to talk to me. I went to call my boyfriend to have him come so she would talk to me (he wouldn’t come down - I think he was scared of her - he said she was mean and nasty to him). I went back in to tell her how unprofessional she was and she yelled at me and told me she was going to call the police so I left. Stay FAR AWAY from Jinu’s Alterations in Plainfield IN.

Would not recommend. Lady was nice but had ZERO professional skills. Terrible time management. Also VERY EXPENSIVE- i got a dress hemmed up an inch and a stream and she charged me nearly $100. And when i went to pick up my dress.. she didn’t steam it at all and told me that it would be MORE MONEY.. Would rate zero stars if i could. Do not make the same mistake as us.

I needed 5 pairs of scrub pants hemmed & I came to Jinu Alterations on Monday October 16. I was wearing one of the scrub pants & the person behind the counter came around & pinned the cuff of my scrub pants to the proper height. I then changed in the dressing room & gave her all 5 pants. She looked over the scrub pants & told me she would charge $15 per scrub pants to hem them for a total of $75. She gave me a receipt for the pants, but did not tell me the price could go up. Nor did she mention she did not accept credit cards. I came back on Wednesday, October 18, & was surprised to find she had tacked on $3.50 per pants for a total of $92.50. When I asked why, she said there was considerably more material to hem then she originally expected. What's more, I would have to run to the bank for cash because she didn't accept debit or credit cards. I went to the bank & returned with the cash. I asked her exactly why the cost went up. She got incredibly defensive & angry. She claimed that my pant cuffs were twice as big as other cuffs & I told her I didn't see how that was possible, she pulled out another customer's pants from the stack to compare. It's true that my pants cuffs were bigger, but no where near double the size. I also pointed out that she got a good look at the size of my pant cuffs when she pinned them 2 days before. How could she be surprised at how much material there was? Why would she quote me $15 per pants when she saw how big they were? She got even angrier at this & said she had been distracted by the other customers in the shop. When I pointed out there were no other customers at the time I was there, she upbruptly threw up her hands & said she take the $15 per pants. I told her 'no, I would pay the price, but I would give her a bad review.' She blew her stack then & called me a 'very bad man.' She tried to find out who I was & what my occupation was, but I refused her the information. I gave her $100 & she gave me back $2.50 instead of $7.50 she owed me. She then told me to leave her business. I gathered my scrubs & left. I was getting in my car when she charged up to me with the $5 she owed me. I told her to keep it & she threw it at me & charged back into her business.Service: Pants alterations

Jinu is the best! I tore one of my favorite dresses and she was able to fix it for me in a timely fashion. She’s very kind and her prices are quite reasonable. 10/10 and I’ll definitely be back.

I have been here 3 times and each time has been a success. She does a great job and I highly recommend. I also forwarded her to my family members who have had positive experiences as well.
