I stopped at DG for cookies, root beer soda and Stake-ums for dinner. Went in got what I needed and checked out with the assistance of a nice and courteous woman named Jess. When I went home only one bag was in my vehicle. The other was at the store so I called immediately. Jess assured me that the bag was still there. I drove back, got more items, and she helped me again along with giving me the items I left. She saved, not only my family's dinner, but my sweet tooth.
Again thanks Jess.

Dollar General Incident Store = 23980 Order = 82100893213803202-0128 Auth = 082551 Ref = 10439079 Cart = 10439079 On Aug 31 2023 I had placed a pick up order via the app at appx. 2pm. The pick up time was scheduled for 6-7pm. At 5:31 I received an email saying it would be delayed but they would let me know. The app's progress said they were packing it. Now it was well after 6pm, an hour after that email. I wanted to give them a call since no update was made and my order was 16 items - all being simple house necessities. The woman on the phone was very "out of it" I would claim. It was a very awkward conversation. She almost seemed like there may have been some substance abuse or misuse just from my experience as an ER nurse and the way she was talking. Regardless, I managed to get to an answer that "they never received the order." Then many silent moments later, she gasped so loud it scared me saying here it is! It never came through. I kept having to prompt her for the next steps. "Will it be done today?" etc and explained that my son would be walking there to obtain the items just need to gauge the time. Plus, it was a school night. Unfortunately, I have had some bad luck recently. Car was a total loss a few months back, my health at 33 is declining fast with end stages of congestive heart failure - which 3 days prior to this incident my husband had passed away from same said heart issues but we didn't realize he had them too. Unexpected. So I say all that to let you know my voice was gruff and I didn't want her to think I was upset - let her know about my husband passing and just wanted her to not be maybe weird acting because of me....? I am a people pleaser, I just wanted smooth sailing. She FINALLY let me know she would pack it now, so my son waiting 30 min then headed to bring back the purchase. I received a phone call from a more stern and talkative employee (who refused to tell me her first name which is on her name tag isn't it) who very matter-of-fact and loudly explained that my son was there but they won't give him my things because I can't afford them. Read that again. Shocked. Still am. Almost like someone was around and she was making fun of me? Which I found so weird. I explained that I know it went through because I just got the confirmation email via phone right before she called. We went back and forth when I started to explain to her that one other time I had another mishap with my card there. Someone swiped it twice that checked me out and took $400 off my card extra (yes I spent 400 that day myself). And while telling this issue, she started screaming at me to stop yelling and cursing at her. She would not take that talk from me! I am flabbergasted. Now my son did say he could hear the conversation after with the employees bashing me in front of an entire store and him, and they claimed I used a cuss word and she took that as opportunity to shut me up. Mind you my heart is not ok - this sent me into a hysterical panic attack. Then the manager MONICA HOLLOWAY got on the phone and I tried to talk with her. She kept putting me on mute. Ignoring my questions. I was instructed to text her a screenshot of my bank statement, which I did and now don't feel comfortable with that. Prior to the sending of the screenshot, I kept asking if she could tell me where to send it. And, I was mocked to customers in the store and ignored. She then made fun of my disability, and I was dumbfounded on how she knew. And then she asked me a lot of personal questions, address, phone, email, kids names, husbands name, maiden name - and when I stopped to question she said these exact words "Oh I know you personally already, yep personally." I was very upset by that and asked what she meant. She hung up on me. I called back asking for their first names only. She said company policy is for me to shut the fuck up. She hung up again. I texted my son to stay. Called police. He let me know I am trespassed from that store! I wasn't even there! And that th

I’m an older lady that has had 2 bladder surgeries. This is the only DG in Peru that will not let you use the restroom. I refuse to shop with DG any longer. The employees used to have compassion for their customers!

Chick working tonight thought it was funny to have the doors locked at 9:57 and refuse to let me in even though there were other customers in the store in plain sight. I even showed her the time on my phone and told her I just literally needed to go to the register with intentions of adding $$ to cash app card. She again laughed and muttered "nope, oh well." We are regular customers of this store which is 1 of 4..soon to be 5 in our county. That was an absolute trash display of customer service especially for a transaction that would have taken a minute. Highly aggravated and disappointed in the way I was just treated at this store!!

I was in your store Nov 4. The floors were terribly dirty. I felt like I needed to go home and shower after shopping there. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Will not be shopping here in the future

This, of the four (yes, four!) Dollar Generals in our small town, is the worst. It's not clean, there are holes consistently present, and staff are not friendly in my experience. They are gruff, bored, and just want to get you finished so they can get back to what they were doing or to the next in line.Products on shelves are haphazard and usually out of place, and items seem to be stacked on top when stocked, with misplaced products never returned to their proper location. Expired or out of date goods remain on the shelf. To their credit, they are a staple for dry goods in this part of town. Prices are fairly reasonable for most products. Our little town couldn't keep Kmart when they had to close so many stores. We have no other options to speak of, and Dollar General fills a great need in our community. I just wish they were better managed, and this is the bottom of our Peru DG barrel.
