This is the only vet I've ever used. Even as a kid my parents brought our dogs to Dr. H. I think we've had enough of the new ownership and will look into other vets. One of our dogs gets stressed out during visits and doesn't trust the doctors, usually the vet techs do alright with her. One of the visits she snapped at the doctor, who was leaning over the top of her while my dog was obviously uncomfortable, which in my opinion is bad practice on the doctors part. Ever since then she has been flagged in her file. We used to do happy visits with a particular vet tech and made great progress, but they decided to start charging us for trying to desensitize our dog with them so we stopped. They request trazadone before visits which only seems to make my dog more on edge. They also insist on using a muzzle, which again just adds stress to the dog. Another thing is the ladies have a tendency to use the baby talking voice, which makes dogs more stressed. After our most recent visit I told them the trazadone does not help so the doctors brilliant solution was to prescribe 2 different medications along with melatonin treats for future visits. For a fear free clinic that doesn't sound like a reasonable practice. She insisted on happy visits for desensitization, but I'm not going to pay for that. It also doesn't help the last few years it seems like all new staff every time we do our annual visit. At this point is feels like they are trying to milk money out of us and don't want to put in a lot of effort with our stressed out dog. Sorry, but if you want to drug my dog out of her mind that is making it easier for you, not my dog.

Charging me a fee for a appointment I did not miss last year. Shame on you.

This place is way too expensive and difficult to work with compared to other vets in the surrounding area. For several reasons, I am just not satisfied with the service provided here compared to other places. When we call in for a quote on anything we can never get an accurate estimated range. The estimation given is always "between $300-$700". I feel like I am being nickel and dimed with unneeded add-ons. Once, they charged me for two stool samples within the same week and didn't bother to tell us that it was an additional cost. Why would my dog need two stool samples in one week? My dog was struggling with chronic diarrhea for so long and I spent so much money on tests and they were never able to give me a for sure diagnosis. It was always "probably's and possibly's". For unknown reasons, they will no longer do online approvals on 'subscription' food from Chewy. I was told I had to come in to get an approval slip. I don't have time to run to the vet to get an approval slip for the food my dog has been eating his entire life. I called a secondary vet and they approved the order immediately. The staff here is normally really nice I just think their policies are way too difficult to be charging the prices that they do. I am now paying half of what I normally would for a more convenient experience.

This clinic is amazing. Everyone works together to make sure our animals are well taken care of. We see Dr Dehmel and we are so grateful we found her. Our dog has several health issues and she has shown kindness, compassion and goes above and beyond to develop a treatment plan to help our furry family members live their best life. So grateful for this clinic.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ve been coming to New Pal Vet Clinic for 4 years now. They took great care of our last dog, Penny, who sadly passed away last January. I got a new puppy named Jonas shortly after Penny passed, who loves coming to the vet. Both have had great care from New Pal Vet. Dr. Dehmel is such a wonderful and compassionate veterinarian. Have recently started getting to know Dr. Elkins too, who is also a wonderful and compassionate vet. Have nothing but good things to say about the whole staff!

Prices are high at this Veterninarian. I am on the fence about returning. It was not all that great of an experience. Took a long time to finish.

I have used New Palestine Veterinary Clinic for 30 plus years. Dr. Hillendbrant was the BEST! To say he went above and beyond would be an understatement. However when he and his wife left so did the care in the office. I continued to go there and had multiple services performed on my dogs. Then unfortunately i had an emergency with one of my dogs come up and had to put him down. I called in to make arrangements and due to the fact he had not been in for two years they would not help. Also made the comment we are not accepting new dogs and he would be considered a new dog to us. 1. I had spent 4K in surgery on said dog two years ago. 2. This was an emergency and I was trying to help my dog not suffer. 3. The lack of empathy and care was atrocious. Dr. H would have never stood for this. Neither will I and I will never go to this Vet clinic again. I do want to say its not the Vets themselves as they have always been very good with me. This issue was 3-4 mos ago but now I have a new puppy and have to find a new Vet so felt inclined to share my experience.

We have taken our pets there for more than fifteen years. Unfortunately we don't take them as often as we should because since Dr Hildabrant left it's not the same. The girls working there are nice. But they don't get free nail trimming with chech up, Used to when I called for our now 14 year old golden retrieversbThyroid medicine in it was never An issue with it being on the doctor's chart for3 days to get the meds.. It's just not a small town vet anymore , corporate owned everything is different.I really like the girls working there. But everything now is so expensive and so much red tape it's ridiculous.
