βExcellent selections. Went there because the owner of Trail-Inn (Valpo) said there was an SLB Sagamore barrel pick. Snagged one and a couple more. Very nice store!β
βGreat atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly, even the security guards. It's my preferred liquor store in Gary because I prefer shopping around a store on my own rather than through a window.β
βShellyB: Hi. I work at Duneside, and i assure u that u are reviewing the wrong business. 1st, our hours are 9-10 weekdays, 9-12 weekends, 12-7 Sunday. 2nd, since when is portage not a safe area?? Lol. 3rd, we do not have loiters outside our store/in the parking lot. And we do not have to bring customers their items behind bulletproof glass ? customers are free to browse and get whatever they want and bring it to us at the counter. Where we gratefully ring them up, while asking how their day was. We're a very chill business. So I don't know what ur on about. But u most definitely are reviewing the wrong business, so maybe next time, double check the name and address before u said out a review like that. Thanks boo.β
βWe have visited Merrillville every year for the last 4 years for softball, every year we go to Wise Guys for their wide variety of choices, will continue to visit any time we go back. Just wish my home town had one.β

βNice cashier, it was pleasantly surprising to be in the presence of peace, ended up spending more, her up selling skills were smooth and easy because, it was straight to the point! Which caused me to have to leave a tip!?β
βFirst timer here, I've been to several liquor stores (probably all) in the area and had an unbelievable awesome experience at 9:30 PM. First of all this establishment is opened until 10 PM most the others close at 9 PM. I started with a gentlemen named Dave, who explained the philosophy of the owner, how he grew the company and what the intentions were which is a credit to who hired Dave who obviously did his homework and was trained well.
Dave reviewed various bourbons with me, he educated me, shared what were popular sellers and what product moves fast and often. I came in for one specific brand they did not have but Dave googled some others for me and sold me three! Dave got Noah involved from the register, we discussed some others and I was upgraded to a higher class type (class) of bourbon that was higher class, performance and yield! I ended up buying three that I never heard of. Unbelievable expert service, solid old fashion service as what we used to get in the 70's and 80's, real old fashion solid friendly human contact and interaction as well. I just taste tested all three and Dave was spot on with his choice knowledgeable selections.
Thank you Dave and Noah for an enjoyable, awesome, friendly, warm, and most kind experience, I will return and am recommending you to my associates! Cheers gentlemen!β
βGreat place. Nice and clean owners are super nice a wide selection on the floor and lots of goodies behind the counter as well. They do close at 10 but I've been lucky enough to get in slightly after a few times.β

βCheapest beer around and they have everything. If old town doesn't have whatever stupid drink your wife seen on TikTok, nobody else will. Staff is super friendly and the line is never long. They're awesome.β
βI love that they open this place as an open floor liquor store instead of ordering through a thick plexiglass window. The workers are friendly and their prices are reasonable. Now I don't have to travel far to surrounding cities to get my liquor.β

βThey're the only liquor store that always has my Taylor Tawny port wine. It's my dad's fault for getting me started on it. They were the only liquor store that had it during the tik tok kid's phenomenon....Kim ( who does the ordering) always tries to have it in stock as am in almost every week. Therefore I will always go there. Others are worth my time.β

βI love this liquor store so much I drive all the way from Indianapolis to shop here. They have a huge selection of beers, wines, and liquor. I love the different novelties that they have in the store for sale.β
βIβm a regular at this store. They have the best prices around compared to surrounding liquor stores and theyβre always super friendly! They are also always fully stocked! Everytime I come in the workers are very welcoming and polite. Definitely my go to!β

βGary Indiana is scary! We had to stop there during a road trip for an emergency and I was paranoid about getting robbed the whole time. We went to this liquor store to pick up a few beers & at least the customers were pretty much the mind their own business type. It was new to us to get liquor & beer from someone behind Plexiglas protection though but seeing that area we understood why. The cashier was cool. Prices were fair. We got drunk like we wanted.β

βNice clean store. Friendly staff. Seems to have most everything you would want. Some craft beers. Not a ton, but plenty. I cannot speak for the hard liquor selection, but they have quite a few. Wines run the gambit.What you care about most, prices? Not terrible.β
