Stunning place with beautiful interior. If you're in the area, add this to your list of places to see.

Consistently let tours park in the middle of the road blocking traffic

Beautiful historic home.
The tour process was a bit odd, however. Maybe this is explained elsewhere, (on a website perhaps) but it seems you have to show up at the front door at a designated tour time to be let in. The tour begins at the door and then you pay mid way through the tour. Very strange, but other than that I enjoyed it.

An amazing home that has successfully dodged the destruction of time and progress. Our tour guide was quiet and informative and had history with the home which helped the narration. The home’s exterior and interior both are truly majestic marvels to behold; definitely worth the meager ticket price and an hour or less commitment!I will say I am not much on the whole “Haunted Old House” thing that seems to be common with these types of places as I feel it cheapens the experience. It would also have been nice to have had more information regarding the Victorian lives of the inhabitants as it would have helped to bring to life what we saw. Also, for some reason through the years all the front foliage has been eradicated (see last picture from 1979). Nevertheless, it is a great place to go to spend time with the New Albany royalty of the day!

Really lovely self guided tour. There is information posted outside each room, and it is easy to follow along. It was $11 per person when I went, but I thought it was worth it.

Bethany was a fun tour guide who assisted my 6 yr old niece in her innocent questions about history and made it interesting for her. Me too. Loved the artwork, could never have kept the place clean enough for me though… 20,000+ sq feet!

We enjoyed the short self guided tour at this beautiful property. We used the librarie's cultural passes, so our entry was free. I appreciate that they participate in this program. It took us about 1.5 hours to see the entire house. Worth the visit IMO.

My husband and I visited on a Sunday morning and it was just us and another lovely couple. Our tour guide, simply put, was young and slightly awkward. Some conversation topics such as her personal feelings on religion as well as her repeated use of “costed” and “libary” where off putting and somewhat unprofessional. While she did seem to have some of the basic knowledge about the family and home there were some discrepancies from other posted historical facts and there were several questions asked that she admittedly did not have answers to. The home was very nice. The architecture is interesting and the items on display are beautiful. However, there are more pieces that are period pieces than original to the home. We have toured other homes in other parts of the state through the Indiana State Museum and historic sites and they have been great. I definitely believe the guide makes the tour and unfortunately this one was lacking for us.

Without doubt the best Haunted House experience and I have been to many over the years. Hands down just a great tour.Do not let the size of the building throw you off as it was brought together wonderfully. The one theme carried through out created a perfect setting as not the typical each room a new and unrelated story. Those inside the house really were into their roles and made the tour that much more fun.We were nervous as made the two hour trip on Halloween weekend but so worth it. Line was a nominal wait and went quick.Highly recommend you come check this haunt out and we will without doubt be coming back to see the Mansion when open and visit this event again.

Great time visiting the museum. Sad it's not the original, but great job making it like the original house, cool history!
