“Schimpff's Confectionery is seriously mind blowing! My curiosity about this spot had been building for ages, so I finally made the time to visit, and wow! It exceeded all expectations! Schimpff's opened in its present location in 1891 and is one of the oldest, continuously operated, family-owned candy businesses in the United States. How cool is that?! And not only is Schimpff's a unique confectionery, it's also a lunch room, complete with a 50's soda fountain! I had no idea until my visit. Sadly, I didn't get to eat during my visit, but I can't wait to go back and fully experience all that Schimpff's has to offer! In addition to all of that, Schimpff's also houses an amazing candy museum! It's jam packed with old-fashioned candy jars, cases of amazing memorabilia, turn-of-the century equipment, and tons of antique candy packaging and advertising. Plus you can also check out live candy-making demonstrations and tours. Of course, the star of the show is the candy itself. Schimpff's is famous for its cinnamon Red Hots and Modjeskas. And if you can't visit in person, you can shop their confections online! If you're looking for something to do that's unique, interesting, and memorable, you've gotta check out Schimpff's!”

“Muth's candy is the very best candy in the world in my opinion! Their chocolate is to die for! You can't go wrong with anything at all that you get because it's all delicious. I love their double dipped chocolate malted milk balls, but my absolute favorite is something you can only get here and nowhere else. They are called Modjeskas and they are the best piece of chocolate heaven. They are marshmallows covered in caramel and dipped in chocolate. The candy recipe was a gift to the Muths from a candy maker who came to America in the 1800's. The story is on their website and a very interesting read. You can't get Modjeskas anywhere else. You MUST try them. They opened in 1921 and my dad started getting candy for Valentines day for us kids since the 1950's and my siblings and I have continued the tradition. They are the very best there is. Try it for yourself, soon!Parking: It is sometimes difficult to find a place to park but it is free to park on the street.”

“They did not have any hard candy which is what I went for. They had old school candy bars except no Fith Avenue. They did have the pear Jelly Belly's....yea! ? I wanted to try a Jelly belly marked as one of their favorite but she said there was no way to get out one so I could sample...whatever! So I rate you a 4 and that is because the chocolate was very good!”

“This small store has tons of chocolates infused with a wide variety of different bourbons. The shop keeper was very polite and helpful. He gave us samples, answered our questions about the different options, and gave us recommendations. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area and you like chocolate. They have a small section of non-alcoholic sweets as well. We got some Modjeska candies here, which are caramel-covered marshmellow sweets originating there in Louisville KY. It was our first time trying them, and they were fantastic!”
