Took my 8 year old daughter for a haircut on Sunday. She received a shampoo, cut, and quick blow dry.. just as the description says when booking online for a kid's cut. The total should have been $20. The woman proceeded to try and charge me $50. After realizing I was not ok with the total, she acted like she was giving me a discount and charged me $35.. which is still too much for the service we received. I felt taken advantage of.

I went in today and asked if I could get a wash and silk press done. Thankfully the lovely ladies (Charity and Lusa) allowed me to get my hair done and let me tell ya they were both extremely friendly and Lusa (I believe that’s how she spells it) was absolutely amazing! I don’t trust a lot of people when it comes to my hair but she did an absolutely FANTASTIC job! I am definitely coming back!

I would not recommend this place for a simple haircut, I was charged 40 dollars for a simple haircut no shampoo, or anything else.

My husband got his haircut here last week . We got 1 hour wait time , & used that time to do some shopping at JCPenney .Cut & beard trim was around 45 bucks all together. Hairstylist , I forgot her name , she is from Korea , was great !

I would never recommend this salon. The stylist never showed up to cut my hair after I confirmed my appointment twice. Once I checked in 10 minutes before my appointment I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to be completely ignored by every stylist in the salon. I left without receiving service. Worst haircut I've had in years. I asked for a trim (wash, cut). She didn't take much hair off the top but gave me a strange layered shelf cut - my hair actually "poufs" up in the back and is difficult for me to style. This was after I waited forty minutes for my booked appointment. I've used Penney salons in the past, but no more. And I definitely would not use the one at University Park Mall. My daughter’s used to love getting there hair done here! They used to have great stylists!Now on to why I won’t be returning nor will my daughter’s! I made an online appointment for my youngest daughter who will be attending midwinter on a Sunday. I got a call today which I returned only to be told Carolina (the stylist) takes a long time to do an updo. That she wouldn’t have enough time to actually do my daughter’s hair. This is after I put in the notes for the stylist that my daughter’s hair is down too her waste line. The woman I spoke with told me Carolina had an appointment directly after and my daughter’s hair would take 3 hours to do. Seriously her hair has never taken 3 hours so do! It’s not thick at all just long. Then I was told they were short staffed and everyone was booked up. So I said basically you’re telling me my daughter is screwed and she said yes! Seriously that is not professional at all! She also told me Carolina was booked up for the rest of the evening but I went online to schedule an appointment and guess what she’s available all the way until they close except in the time slot after the appointment I booked! My daughter didn’t really want an all updo and I told the lady that and she was like there’s nothing we can do! I stated I would find someone else to do my daughter’s hair and that we wouldn’t be returning! She acted like she didn’t care and I hung up! So I guess my $100.00 tips that I give when doing my daughter’s hair will go to someone else!

I’ve tried to walk in but it was late which I understand I then tried to walk in early during the day and was told they were booked, I then scheduled an appointment online and someone called me to confirm my appointment she asked what I wanted done and I explained that I just needed my hair washed, conditioned, cut and styled she asked styled how and I told her just with a straightener then she asked what texture hair I have and I told her I was black so she told me she couldn’t book my appointment because there was no one there that could do that texture hair I told her my hair was relaxed she said it didn’t matter I hung up. Now I see why I was really turned away when I tried walking in I’ve had my hair done at Jc Penny Salon before and it’s never been a problem now all of the sudden it’s a problem. I’ll never go there again whether it be to shop or window browse! I will go to Smart Style at Walmart first ? This was at the Mishawaka location inside University Park Mall

My haircut turned out perfect! Although my boyfriend was somewhat disappointed by his hair cut and hopes to get a touch up. I think it looks okay, but make sure to fully list and comferm what kind of haircut your looking for. Check voice-mails because adjustments may have to be made after booking appointment.
