Used to be good--but NOT NOW! I hired this company in 2019, wanting my husband to be able to age in place in a safe manner. I entered this relationship after this company cared for my father the previous years. I wanted to offer my husband safety, comfort, and dignity in his own home. With hospitalizations over the last 2 years of almost 2 months, skilled care was required to ensure his safety at home. I am a working professional. Due to my husband's critical health issues and fragility, in 2023 alone, we used this company for just under Five Thousand Hours (in 2023 alone---not including 2022, 2021, 2020 or 2019 hours) During my husband's hospitalizations (never planned, always critical health issues) I always kept and paid the day help and offered to pay the night help even though I wasn't using them, due to short notice which they gladly accepted. Despite that history, on Friday 2/09 late morning, knowing I was out of town, ( I had emailed them January 3 of my travel for the next 3 months) they sent me an email (NOT A PHONE CALL, NOT EVEN A TEXT) saying they did not have anyone to fill the schedule for Sunday 2/11. (THIS SUNDAY--less than 48 hours away). And that they were discontinuing services with us! I was completely shocked---a company I had trusted to care for my husband for over 5 years. They left a very ill vulnerable person with NO CARE AND LESS THAN 48 hours' notice, on a Friday afternoon! This certainly created unnecessary complications and increased risk for my husband's health, well-being, and safety. My husband is NOT a difficult case. His caregivers liked him and did a good job, when they knew him. Having new people regularly was difficult for all of us, which happened more frequently lately. Discontinuing service, after 5 years (and at least 1 year prior with my parents, so over 6 years) without so much as a phone call really is not a standard of care one would expect. Additionally, when emailing on a Friday (knowing for 5 weeks that I would be out of town that day) that services were being discontinued on Sunday, certainly that gives us no ability to ensure a safe transition of care is in place and put my husband's well-being at risk. This has been a very disappointing ending to a 5-year relationship. If you decide to use these people, I suggest you check your emails several times a day and have contingency plans in place--to use immediately!

I worked for this company from February of 2023 to August of 2023. They seemed to be helter skelter. Not very organized. Their system seemed haphazard. The most important thing is I earned over 5K and all their company doing their payroll only took out $188 in Federal taxes. That goggles my mind. Plus I had set up to have extra money so I wouldn’t have to pay when I filed my 2024 taxes. I would never work for them again.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful organization. The last year of Dad's life was very challenging and we experienced many highs and lows as we navigated through hospital stays, rehab stays, and the constant struggle to allow him to live at home with Mom. Senior1Care was 100% caring and reliable from the first time I called them. Every single staff member was helpful every time I interacted with them. Even after Dad passed, they were there for us with expressions of sympathy and going above and beyond to help Mom get reimbursement from an insurance benefit we didn't know Dad had. Lori Allen was phenomenal and the caregivers (especially Denise), were incredible.

Would not recommend working as a home caregiver here the people that work in this office are very uptight and any minor convenience and they need you to come into the office also they give no hours. I would only recommend taking the cna classes they have. Also if your working a 12 hour shift and the caregiver is 30 min late your expected to stay when they get to the house and talk about what happened on your shift even if you have to be someone important after that shift for example to go get your kid.

Last summer my siblings and I found ourselves in an immediate need situation for one on one personal care for our Mother, who was is in an advanced stage of Dementia. She was losing her husband/caregiver to an aggressive form of cancer and it was sudden. We needed someone to stay all day with her and some nights so we could tend to our Father until he passed. We called Senior 1 Care and they immediately rushed us through their process of getting set-up in their system and placed someone who they felt was a good fit for her. The CNA they sent was amazing with my Mother and did a nice job with her care. We appreciated their guidance and willingness to work with a schedule that was very unpredictable day to day. While the care was short-term at that moment in time, we have since asked them to be a part of the full time care day to day with my Mom at her memory care unit. They have a dedicated team that works with our nursing home that specializes in Dementia patients. We couldn't be happier.

My experience with Senior1Care was pretty awful. Although about half of the attendants, who came to my elderly relative's apartment were good, the other half could not be trusted. Supplies in the apartment disappeared. My main disappointment, though, was with the administration. We received bills totaling many thousands of dollars with no itemization. When I asked about this, I was told that it was too time-consuming for the billing department to itemize! Once, when I was visiting, the care management consultant came over "just to meet me and say hello," and then charged us for the visit. I'm so glad we switched to another group.
