I was filling up my 4x4 van with diesel. Instead of the pump stopping when full, gasoline spewed out, completely soaking the left side of my body. The van sits up high so when I say completely soaked, I mean drenched. To appease the situation, I recommended to the owner that I run down the street to buy a pair of flip flops & shorts & bring back the receipt for reimbursement. She refused claiming the pump was not at fault & so crudely called me a diva and a Karen. Judging by this store’s reviews, the owner obviously doesn’t care about yet another dissatisfied customer but I’ve been in hospitality my entire life — it bothers me deeply. After witnessing her behavior, I hope her subordinates don’t think this is any way to treat a customer. Yes, undesirable situations are going to happen but it’s how a business owner handles damage control that can make or break whether that company can persevere. Both stars go to the fella at the register. He was trying his absolute best to remedy the situation but the lady who runs this ship needs to take a business 101 class, as well as invest in making sure her equipment on the property, especially those used by patrons, are up to safety regulations.
