Don't rent from AVIS! If you need a rental Enterprise every time... At the beginning of December I made a reservation for an SUV to accommodate a 5 passenger round trip from IN to VA. However, I later amended that reservation (at least 10 days prior to departure) to accommodate 2 more passengers. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle I was given a 6 passenger SUV, no option to upgrade or reasonable accommodations. Simply take it or leave it with a significant price increase from $494.99 for 8 days to $781.54 for 7 days.I spoke to customer service on 3 separate occasions in an attempt to get a larger vehicle or a reduced price and ended up making the trip with one of our kids sitting on the floor. To boot, when we returned the vehicle AVIS decided to charge an extra $250 cleaning fee bc there was pet hair in the vehicle. I have attached a picture of what the inside looked like. Suffice to say the vehicle was returned in better condition than the lobby of the Avis storefront. All in, we paid $1000.00 for a vehicle that didn't fit our needs. Oh yeah & we got the damage protection, which translates into "I could have totaled the vehicle, returned it on a flat bed truck & spent less money." I'd advise this route if we ever rented from them again.

Terrible company. You cannot rent here using a debit card without providing a Social Security Number and having a credit check done. The people just sat smugly behind the counter offering no solutions. I had even prepaid the reservation with Avis via phone ahead of time.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs unless you want to deal with hassle.The office is also a dump. Looks like an office reminiscent of 1991.

I rented a SUV on Sunday and had great service, however, today Sheere’ helped me extend my reservation and it took all of three (3) minutes !!! She was courteous, and after calling the one 800 number and being lost in the land of options, she was a pleasant surprise & I appreciated her ?

Sheere and her colleague have accommodated my tour needs for a number of months now. They've done their best in providing me top-of-the-line vehicles (when available) for an affordable rate. They've kept me informed on what vehicles would best serve me, the costs associated & even helped me in a last minute pinch. They've become my trusted go-to for traveling.

They wouldn't let me rent out the car because I had recently moved and my license address hasn't changed yet. I offered them digital proof of my move (bank statements, etc.) but they would only accept physical proof (but no junk mail, which is the only physical mail I have ever gotten at the new address). Not only did they leave me with no options at the end of the day when all other places closed, but they treated me horribly. I called corporate and they said that it shouldn't have prevented me from being able to rent, but this location wouldn't listen. I've never left a negative review, but I was treated so poorly that I felt like I should.

This has been an awful experience all around. First, my husband and I made a reservation online several days before the pick up so there was plenty of heads up for the staff. When going to pick up the car, my husband arrived BEFORE the pick up time, and finds the door locked and a sign on the door saying the staff is on break even though the store has been open for less than an hour. They were gone for over 20 minutes. Once the staff member finally returned, he made up some excuse as to why he was gone. The car rental itself was fine, however upon returning it, we were charged an additional $70 for gas, even though we had returned it with a full tank. We then had to spend 30 minutes fighting on the phone with the Avis customer service line since this location doesn't even have their own phone apparently, even with a posted 574 number. All of this is to say, if you're thinking about renting a car you need to take your business elsewhere because this has been ridiculous.

I didn’t have any issues with the staff BUT the rental looked like someone’s personal car. It was dirty on the inside, scuffed, scratched, dirty and dented on the outside. I got the rental to drive to Muncie- once on the highway, we realized one of the passenger side air vents didn’t close. There wasn’t any windshield wiper fluid in the car so I could even clean the windshield. I had to stop at a gas station to clean it. The car runs loud and drives rough- again, like someone’s personal vehicle. When I dropped it off, I told them my concerns and frustrations and the response was “well, it’s an old vehicle with a lot of miles on it…” WELL don’t rent it out then!

Told us they reserved a car for us and we could rent a car with a debit card. Drove 30 minutes with our small baby only for them to tell us we couldn’t rent the car because we didn’t have a credit card when we have plenty of money to pay for it and full coverage insurance. Treated us as though we were criminals and wasted our time. The place smelled like a run down old tanning salon. Looked like a trap house for cars

No joke, the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life. First time I've ever walked into a place of business and was told "we won't help you". No worries though, the Avis down the road helped. Just overall s*** service. Embarrassing

The location should be removed by Avis!Prepaid online to pickup at 1 pm the next day. When I arrived, was told after she (I asked for her name, but she refused) took my credit card and license that my car size isn’t available. I would have to pay more and said why should I pay more when you have plenty of cars and you never called me before I drove 40 miles to pickup. She smirked and said “you can take it or leave it”. I said but you made the error and she said “we are not Avis”.It was awful. One saving grace was the customer behind me told her she was being unfair and not professional. I thanked the other customer and told her to cancel my reservation. She said she couldn’t, I would have to contact Avis since they are not Avis, but an independent.Received an email 3 hours after wrote the above review that said was from owner wanting rental agreement number to review and replied back with information but crickets since. I was suspicious since name was not the name of the owner on the business card that was on the counter.
