The service at this locally owned center is horrible. They cannot even answer what number to call at Verizon when they can't answer the phone then try to come up with "solutions" that aren't even applicable. Absolutely worthless to stop in here.

Hi. I went to the Michigan City Verizon store this afternoon for help. The staff was very helpful and patient. Derek helped me and sent me several tools to help also. He was very knowledgeable as well.

Awful service, the agent did not know what he was doing, didn't seem to care, they sold me a SIM card that I could not return due to it not working. Spelled my name wrong on the receipt and didn't care to check if information was correct, and wrote my address on the receipt completely off. I'll never step foot in this store again!

Well, went in there few months back because I had heard of a good BYO phone deal. So I signed up with them (Verizon) and was told I'd get a $300 card for the BYO offer in a few weeks as long as we have service for a set amt of time. They also sold me on a Verizon Visa. I was told I'd get $10 off my monthly bill if I did and paid my bill with it, so sure I signed up. I told them my wife was a teacher and that qualified me for a $70/month unlimited plan so I signed up for that. 'It takes a couple billing cycles for that to go through' I was told. Ok. So, about a month later I go back in a was interested in seeing what they had for new phones. They've got a deal going for a Samsung S20+, like $800 off or something...it's a ridiculous priced phone honestly...$1100? Sure.....anyway, I asked the guy would this affect my $300 card I was supposed to get for the BYO phone deal. He checked and called someone who supposedly knew.....nope! Won't affect it. Alrighty then! So I bought the phone. I asked the guy when could I pay it off. 'Give it a couple months, they want to know you're with them awhile.' Ok. So.....I go in a month or so later wondering why my teacher discount isn't showing yet. 'You have to sign up on their discount site.' I did that already. 'It's not showing.' SO I had to sign up again for that. And BTW, where is my BYO card? When is it supposed to come? 'Lemme check'. Checks his system. 'You can't get the card. You didn't have the BYO on their system long enough.' Huh?!? I checked with you before doing it! 'Sorry, you can't get the card'. Lie No.1 Also, I've noticed when paying with the Visa I'm not getting $10 off, it's $6 and there's a limit of $120 max. No one mentioned that to me and I'm not getting the ten I was told. Lie No.2 And when can I pay off my phone? I was told it would be a few weeks of having it before I can. 'You can pay it off but you'll pay the full price of the phone.' What?!? No one ever mentioned to me that I can't pay off the discount price! (It's a 24 month payoff discount deal.) So I have to wait the entire 24 months to pay this off or I'll get hit the entire full price of the phone?!? No one EVER mentioned that to me!! 'We tell everyone that.' Lie no.3 No, they never told me that or I would have NEVER EVER done the deal. So...to break this very deceptive deal down.....I never got the $300 promised by card for the BYO even though I was told yeah I could. I'm not getting the Teacher discount. The Visa card discount was a lie. And now I'm stuck in a 24 month 'contract' due to not being able to pay off the phone early or I'll get slammed with the full cost of the phone-all very much unexplained by them. Moral of this story....avoid this place at all cost. They won't tell you the truth and you can expect a bunch of lies. Avoid.

If I could give zero stars I would. On the afternoon of Friday March 5, my husband and I went to the Verizon store on Franklin. We were greeted by a young man seated at a table with a big bottle of some beverage in front of him. We told him we were interested in looking at an iPhone 12 for my husband. He pointed over to the display of iPhones against the wall. Never bothered to get up. We asked how much it was and he remained seated while he told us from across the room. I looked to see if he had a leg injury that would prevent him from getting up. He did not. We eventually went over to the table to talk to him, since he clearly wasn't coming over to talk to us. He gave us numbers that were higher than what I had been told when I called Verizon and which I subsequently confirmed with Verizon were wrong. Since this fellow demonstrated no interest in helping us and gave us incorrect information, we left. Too bad because we were ready to buy. Our neighbors told us that they had had a very satisfactory experience at the Verizon store in Laporte on Boyd Avenue. Today, we went there. It was a totally different atmosphere, very professional for one thing. We met with a fellow named Chris S. He was attentive, knowledgeable and over the next hour took care of all my husband's needs. That will be the subject of my next review because I placed an order with him for a phone for myself that I will pick up next week. Look for my review of the Laporte Boyd avenue Verizon store next weekend.

We have found ourselves going to Verizon in Michigan City, In. several times while visiting here. Our first experience this year left us feeling frustrated and upset with the representative. He was short and rude. Unfortunately I did not get his name. Thankfully our second visit was very pleasant when Melonie waited on us. She was very helpful and patient. She encouraged us to call her if we had any further problems or questions. She even gave us a business card with her name handwritten on it. She is a true asset to Verizon. .

I have operated a professional office for over 40 years and pride myself on giving competent service to my clients. Unfortunately, this Verizon store does not follow this simple guidelines. The staff members there give inaccurate and conflicting answers to even the most basic questions and are generally clueless on how to fix any problem. Their cocky "I know everything attitude" is disgusting. It is important to know that they are not a corporate store-they are a 3rd party vendor who contracts with Verizon. The daily customer traffic continues to decline based on the few cars you see in the parking lot and it is likely they will be closing their doors permanently in the near future. If you are a Verizon customer, run, don't walk, away from this place and only do business with a Verizon corporate store. Verizon assumes no responsibility for how this store operates and the best result I can think of is for Verizon to immediately cancel their contract with this business if they want to keep customers in the Michigan City area.

If I could give a zero I would give a zero. I will admit I was having a bad day. I was traveling from Chicago to Detroit today when my Verizon phone decided to unpair. I had a conference call scheduled and needed to get it fixed so I got off the expressway and went to the store. When I came in i explained what had happened and asked for their help. There are three service techs standing around,no one in the store. Guy says corporate policy prohibits them from helping me and I said it's the setting on the phone how can you not help me? He again says corporate policy is they dont do it and I have to go to dealership. I'm so ticked off steam should come out of my ears. I turn to go out the door and yes I was rude and I told him thanks for nothing. He then says well I was going to help you and I said if you're going to help I need your help now. Needless to say I didn't get any help cause guy never made move to come out and help. BUT if he was going to help why did he tell me twice he couldn't help? Makes no sense. Why not just tell me sure I'll help. Plus he didn't even make a move to come up,to me but just stood halfway across the store. So ill take responsibility for being in a bad mood but their customer service still stunk!

The New Verizon store in Michigan City is awesome. Phones take time to set up and repair. The staff was great and patient greeting each and every guest. Really went out of the way to do what they could for each guest. Ask for Tiffany...she was great help.

Avoid it. Walked out 6 months ago with s8plus. They talked me into chemical screen shield and insurance. Phone fell 4 ft on to a rug and screen cracked. They asked if I got on line to activate warranty. I said I tried but could not get on. Girl said "well, either way even with my insurance it will cost 200.00" after buying with them for over 15 years, they can suck it. I will run all over the area and Facebook explaining to everyone to stay away from the scamming money grubbers. Charge big money for a bunch of stuff they claim are good safety items for your phone. I guess I'm the idiot. I bought a bag of air from them. Hope they are happy. They will pay a price now but are way to shortsighted to care. They make used car salesmen look like kittens.
