Sunday, July 21, 2024. We stopped in Michigan City for a night en route to O’Hare to take a flight for our honeymoon. On the hour drive over from the reception, we noticed that our truck was making rattling noises and not handling well.
As soon as we could on Monday afternoon, we sorted through mechanic options and chose to try Dave’s.
The service person we dealt with was friendly, quick, and practical. Took us right away for a test drive. “Bad ball bearings, not safe to drive!” Talked us through our options and answered our questions. So we rebooked our flight, booked another night in Michigan City, and got the truck taken in overnight.
Even thought Dave’s already had a full schedule, they squeezed us in and we had the truck back by 9am the next morning. We made it to O’Hare just fine on Wednesday and the truck sounded and handled much better for a reasonable price.
I’m grateful Dave’s was willing to take on a pair of out-of-town honeymooners and make sure we arrived safely at our destination!

Went to pick up car , it was in worst shape than I left it . Left car in front on flat . Had to tow home , after I paid for repairs and told it runs . Nothing was change but charged

This is the only place in town where I don’t feel like I’m getting absolutely screwed over. They’re friendly, efficient, and professional every single time! I’ve had them fix a few things over the years and never had an issue. I also like that they don’t come back with a huge laundry list of things I “need” done.

We pulled off road for gas and as we stopped car sounded and felt like something bad was going on with ABS brake system. We were still hours from home, on a Sunday night. Got a room for the night as No one was open at that time. Started looking for an open car repair place that could fit me in right away.Very very grateful I found Dave's!! I called, he opened at 7:30 that morning and explained the problem. He said he had a full schedule but would fit me in. He took me with him for the test drive. Diagnosed the problem, HAD THE PARTS AVAILABLE, fixed my car and had me back on the road within an hour and 1/2 of when I got there. As I know nothing about cars I did call my mechanic back home. He told me almost word for word the same things Dave said. Same pricing too! I highly recommend him!

Dave and his associates are always friendly and knowledgeable. My mother got acquainted with Dave several years ago and found him to be very reasonably priced and very attentive to hus customers automobile repairs and needs. Thanks for all your help getting my brakes replaced and oil change done. Customer for life.
