“My account was recently compromised. As I went into my local branch to complete all the necessary reporting and to obtain a new debit card, I began to experience a medical emergency; a sudden and dangerous drop in my blood glucose level. As soon as I realized, I asked the neighboring teller if there was any candy available. She quickly came to my aid and returned with a candy bar. It took some time for me to begin to feel better and regain some normalcy but the branch manager and the other two tellers refused to let me leave the branch until my glucose rose to a comfortable level. It was past closing time, and each one of them took care of me like I was a family member or friend. They even brought me two bottles of an electrolyte drink to keep me sustained. These ladies went above and beyond for me and still helped me to take care of my original banking needs. My medical crisis could’ve went a lot differently if it weren’t for their attentiveness and caring nature. I’m forever grateful. Thank you ladies!”

“I encountered a problem with one of my accounts yesterday. I utilized the 800 number for all bank branches. The call center was off shore. It was difficult to comprehend & discuss the purpose of my call due to the language barrier of tge responding representative.
Overwhelmed with frustration and no explanation as how my issue would be resolved or why the issue occurred; I phoned the Merrillville, IN branch @ 77th & Broadway.
Spoke to an associate banker, Tia T. She was empathetic , extremely considerate and sought the assistance of Renee P. a retail relationship banker. I was informed I should come to their location so they could determine how the issue occurred and resolve my concerns.
When I arrived at the branch, these two ladies teamed up and immediately began to work on the issue. Both ladies worked together to quickly research & resolve the issue involving my account. The customer service extended was genuine, apologetic, professional not to mention respectful.
I left the bank branch with my issues resolved. My stress level was alleviated. I felt grateful that I chose to remain a customer through the acquisitions this banking institution encountered. I've banked at this banking institution well over 35 years & began banking when this bank was know as Mercantile Bank.
