Simply the best! Dr Carlson and staff are all so wonderful. They take the time to evaluate and explain everything and they really seem to care more than the other places we’ve been in the past. As a result, my dogs are living longer and have a better quality of life. We appreciate all they’ve done for us. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Wouldn’t trust our furbabies with anyone else at this point. Our elderly Weim has pulled a number of stunts where she’s ingested various items…they don’t suggest unnecessary procedures and are genuinely concerned with making her better instead of lining their pockets. And I don’t feel judged, which is nice considering her repeated incidents.

I brought my two senior dogs in on 09/07 to see Dr Carlson for check-ups and to get established with a holistic vet in the area. Dr Carlson was thorough throughout the exams at which time we discussed any concerns with each dog's health. My one dog was due for new blood work so they drew blood and doctor said I'd be notified of the results. Dr recommended a couple of supplements and an eye wash which I purchased and I paid the $755 bill and left feeling confident with our new vet. Later that same day I received three emails from them (Southlake) one summary of appt for each dog and the third email was an invoice of the charges. About a week or so passed and I had not heard anything about my Bella's blood work. So I thought no news was good news. Then on 09/28 I received a text from Tara at Southlake Animal Hospital stating they've had Bella's liver supplements sitting there since 09/07 and they were going to restock them if I didn't pick them up. I was like what are you talking about!? You're just notifying me now about liver support supplements that doctor prescribed three weeks ago!!! I quickly drove to the office before they closed. Tara tells me she was looking at the bags of medication waiting to be picked up by owners and saw the bag for my Bella who I now know has liver failure and her prescribed medications were left sitting on a shelf for 3 weeks! Medication that hopefully helps save her life! Tara and some other woman stated they sent me an email about Bella's failing liver and the supplements for her back on 09/07. I NEVER RECEIVED THAT EMAIL. I asked them if they really think I'm going to spend $805 ($50 just to make appt) and not follow up with Dr's recommended care to help my beloved dog who is seriously ill! Doctor's staff left what could be life-saving medication sitting on a shelf there for 3 weeks before one of them texted me about it. In 3 weeks it never entered anyone's mind that maybe I didn't get the email or the fact that they should take a darn moment and phone or text me about my dog's blood work and doctor's prescribed medicine that's been sitting there for 3 weeks! Somebody really dropped the ball here and to say the least I AM NOT HAPPY.

Finally a vet that cares about saving animals lives and not just making money off them! I had gone to 2 previous vets and one of them since my kitty was 3 mos old with a wellness plan and they both basically told me my 13.5 yr old cat with CKD was on death's doorstep after being hospitalized for 2 days.A friend referred me to Southlake Animal Hospital and it's the best thing I ever did!! His SDMA went from 33 to 18 in a month & his other kidney values were cut in half after going through laser light therapy, fluids, a diet change and some supplements! I'm amazed at the fantastic results in a short period of time! I could tell after the 2nd treatment my kitty was starting to feel better. He was eating better, playing more, and his pain appeared to be gone!! By the end of the initial 6 treatments he was like a brand new kitty, eating well & playing nice with his kitten brother! It's so refreshing to go to a vet office where you can tell that every single person is there to help you and your pet! Everyone is so nice and caring!I also love that they have an app where you can take advantage of a number of features and even earn rewards!Thank you so much Dr Carlson and all of the staff!! I don't know what my kitties and I would do without you!! ❤️?❤️?

First time at this vet with my German shepherd puppy and I couldn't be happier! Everyone, from the moment we walked in, was extremely friendly. The vet was very informational, answered all my questions and I really felt heard! Definitely would recommend this vet. The holistic options are a HUGE plus.

We were excited to take our healthy female cocker spaniel to Dr. Carlson and experience a holistic, integrated approach to care. At our initial appointment my wife and I were a little surprised when the vet tech and Dr. Carlson kept giving treats to our dog. My wife even mentioned that she had not eaten supper yet. They gave her a total of at least 15-20 treats and her stomach problems began that night. She vomited three times within 36 hours and continues to have diarrhea for four straight days. These are not common problems for our cocker spaniel and the only change in her diet was the treats given to her by Dr. Carlson and her vet tech. The company that makes the treats recommends only 1-2 of these freeze-dried treats a day. We would have thought that a vet specializing in holistic and integrated care would be aware of this information. We communicated with the office over the weekend and their recommendation was to bring our cocker in for a shot with the vet tech that we would have to pay for. When I called and asked for a call from Dr. Carlson and explanation of why they would not cover the cost for the problems caused by the treats they gave our dog we were told "after careful consideration we can no longer effectively be your veterinarian". My wife and I are both licensed mental health clinicians and not only would this treatment of a client be considered unethical if we did this, we would face possible termination of our licenses for patient abandonment. I only wish that I could give Dr. Carlson a rating in the negative stars as we consider her treatment of our cocker spaniel to not only be unethical and unprofessional, but potentially dangerous. If you love your pet I would strongly suggest that you stay away from this practice.

My cats have been treated with kindness, respect, and compassion during each visit. I lost my buddy, Jasper, today. He passed in a quiet, unhurried, dignified, comforting manner with familiar faces seeing him through. My cats have had routine exams, dental visits, and one had surgery there. None have had post-anesthesia issues. Their individual needs are addressed, and taken care of. Thank you Dr. Carlson and each of your wonderful staff!
