This place is a joke. The front desk lady was the worst and treated everyone terribly. Their phones were down and blamed me for not calling ahead. She also stated that corporate "doesn't know what they're doing." I drove 30 minutes to a different location (so much better) in a car that didn't work just so I didn't have to deal with this poor excuse for a business. Don't EVER come here.

Online budget lists the minimum age to rent a car in Indiana as 21. I made a reservation online it asked me for my age I put in 23 years old. The website accepted my reservation and I went in to the merilville location to pick the car up. The told me I needed to be 25 and refused to rent to me. I have rented from other budget and other rental car companies without issue. I will never come back again.

If I can I would give it no stars smh. I called yesterday because it was my first time and she was rude as hell smfh I kept myself humbled and just cancelled because first impressions says a lot especially for a place that’s supposed to be professional . I’m glad my car is working now ?

This place is horrible! They took my money and booked the reservation. As I’m walking in the door at the scheduled time, the young lady working for the day informed me that she had nothing available. There’s a lot full of cars but she has nothing. She did not offer me any other vehicles or any other options. When I called to have the charges reversed, they informed me that it would take 3-5 business days. They are insisting I canceled the reservation. I’ve tried to book with them before and had the same issue. If this establishment is unable to fulfill then customers needs, not only should the website reflect the availability, but the employees should have more of a rapid response. Complete waste of time.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!Eric was amazing however I felt incredibly sorry for him. He was the only employee there handling both the Avis and budget sides. Not only that but they closed at 1:00 and all the detailed left. Eric still stayed and cleaned cars while assisting 20+ customers at that store. Yes it took 2.5 hours to get a vehicle. They did not have the vehicle we reserved and prepayed for online but Eric accommodated us and got us in a different one. When I dropped off my vehicle that same night at 8:00pm Eric was still there and said he was just finishing up and getting ready for the next day. He also said that it has been so bad some week nights he doesn’t get home till 1-2am. That is ABUSE towards an employee. No one should ever have to be put in a situation where they are set up to fail. I know many people waiting emailed the CEO and I hope they actually care enough to help this location.

Eric needs a promotion, or rather a huge pay raise and long vacation. He was the only one there handling both Avis and Budget, checking vehicles in and out while the phone rang incessantly. Regardless he kept a calm demeanor and was still smiling.

It's a small office that gets a lot of business, and they didn't have a gas car in the class we reserved. However, the upgrade to get a gas car wasn't much. Plus, while the woman who helped us was dialed in on getting us through the process to keep the line moving, she wasn't surly.The car was clean and ran fine. I did find a little random junk, but nothing major.Drop off was a breeze. Three days later, I still haven't received my e-receipt—not that I need it, but it would be nice to have confirmation I didn't get slapped with any fees.

Very Under staffed there was one lady in there she had to check in all the vehicles pull them up park them and take care of the long line of customers. On top of that they didn't have the size truck we reserved and when we finally got the truck 2 hours later the tire was low

Eric is the bright spot here. He needs to be promoted. He was exceptional. Had to wait in line with a reservation for over an hour. Dirty, crowded and the worst rental car experience I have ever had. They had 1 worker with about 50 people trying to rent in a tiny office.

April 27, 2023 5 pm Reserve and prepaid for my rental when I ask the young lady to put the $250.00 deposit a different card and it was declined when I called the credit card company they told me they were trying to run it for the deposit plus the prepaid amount when told them about it they said it was a system glitch nothing they can do about it will never rent from budget again don’t appreciate being called rude when I was not until after being called rude you are in the business of customer service if you can’t hold your tongue you are in the wrong business canceled reservation will be going to enterprise and requested refund from corporate.

This place is terrible the girl at the counter is rude and neither her or the manager can take no accountability for their mistakes you are in the customer service business if you not going to be pleasant and helpful you need to move on I prepaid for my car rental and and when I went to pick it up they attempted to try and run my card for the deposit and the prepaid amount when brought to their attention they tried to blame it on the system enterprise here I come.

Just picked up a Ford expedition, the rental comes with free food crumbs all in the doors and on the seats, dirty floor mats, dusty dash, greasy steering wheel. I'm literally driving it to the detail shop now, thanx Budget!!

The people here are first class! My car was ready when scheduled and made my trip so easy even tho I had to make multiple changes to my rental.

Booked rental online ..charge for rental taken off of my card..Call location holding reservation...They had NO CARS today or tomorrow...While I have to now wait 5-7 days for a refund...Very deceptive business practice...the pits..

Absolutely the best in all arenas. Eric provided THE most excellent customer service care I have ever experienced followed up by Walter who made it seamless was very informative and kept a smile throughout the entire interaction even with me walking in the door at 5:57pm. They also provided a courtesy call, just to make sure things were OK due to my late arrival. Hands down FANTASTIC, thanks again, more importantly thank you for your service to our country Mr.Eric.
