Stopped on the way to a drone race in order to get a tire patched up. Joe was an excellent mechanic and was eager to fix the situation He worked with great attention to detail, eager to share his knowledge and tips. His son was in the shop helping him with all of the work and it was great to have met the both of them. Wonderful people and definitely great service. Highly recommended.

Best mechanic I have ever been to! He picked up my vehicle, took it to the shop, gave me a call to tell me everything that needed fixed, answered all the questions I had, made sure that I understood what he meant for the mechanical terms, fixed it the same day, and brought my vehicle back to me!

Joe is an honest man and does great work on all of our vehicles. He is fair and reasonable. He also goes above and beyond the basic needed work. He always calls and lets us know any additional needed work that he may have found. We highly recommend Joe for all your vehicle needs.

I have been a customer of Joe's Automotive Service for years, until I moved out of state. I'm here visiting, when my battery started needing jumped, if I didn't drive it everyday. I took my CR-V to a couple of local mechanic shops & was told I needed a new alternator. I wasn't sure if Joe was still working but I called him, thank goodness I did! He asked me to describe what was happening and he would get back with me. (He was out having lunch with his son.) He called back later in the day & said it didn't sound like it was an alternator issue, but rather an electrical drain somewhere in the system. He advised me to take it to a Honda service department to have a specific computerized test run to diagnose where the problem was actually coming from. Turns out, it was an antenna in the door handle, that was staying on draining the battery. The point of all this is; without Joe taking the time & listening to what I was describing, I would have put in a new alternator AND still would have had the same issue, when I returned home. Joe is a great mechanic & he actually cares about his customers. You can trust in his knowledge & experience when when it comes to vehicle repairs. THANKS JOE!

We do not live in Illinois, we live in Indiana. And when we broke down in Kankakee, Joe's automotive was ready and willing to take our car right away and help us get back on the road in just a couple of days. I had taken my Hyundai to 2 dealerships, including a Hyundai service dealership. In total my car had been in service for over 4 weeks. Nothing had been done to fix my car. The Hyundai service department called and told me to come and pick my car up and take it somewhere else.My son told me about Joe's Automotive. I called on a Monday. Explained what was going on. Joe even told me he usually doesn't work on Hyundai cars but he would take a look. Within 48 hours Joe not only took a look, he had a diagnosis, a solution and the car was fixed!I would highly recommend Joe's Automotive for your car repairs.Service: Check engine light diagnostic

Owner seems nice enough, helped refer me to other places I could get work done, but the guy seems *very* picky about what he will and will not work on. Ended up taking it somewhere else just because I didn't want to deal with his nitpicking. I dunno - Maybe if you have a newer car, he'll be more accommodating...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not lying when I say this, this truly is the best place to go to get your car worked on! I’ve been twice now to have my car fixed and Joe was great each time. Super friendly, professional and super reasonable on pricing. He’s really fast at getting the car done and getting it done right! Straight forward, honest, and he really cares about his customers happiness! I will definitely be returning when my car needs worked on. He answers all your questions that you have in a way you understand and he will even show you your old parts compared to the new parts. I have brought my car to Joe's twice now. I have been extremely pleased with the service I have received. Joe is exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive to detail. He is also friendly and patient. He explains his findings and recommendations in terms I can understand and without pressuring me. The first time I visited, my car needed major repairs. Joe handled the job very well for a reasonable price and treated my car like it was his own. He has earned my trust and I will continue to take my car to him for repairs and regular servicing.
