My family and I were traveling from northwest Ohio to Chicago last Thursday. We were heading to Shriner’s children’s hospital for my son to have surgery on his leg. Our power steering pump fell apart on the turnpike. Portage tire got us in immediately at 3 o clock. Offered to stay late to fix it if need be, so that we wouldn’t miss our appointment. Fixed it by 5 and didn’t even charge me anything. What a great experience! Highly recommend.”

“I was headed out the other night to run a few errands. To my disappointment, my tire pressure had dropped quite a bit since the dreaded winter weather crept in overnight. ?? I panicked for a min because I have several med issues that makes it quite difficult to do normal things, let alone be out in the nasty cold. But instantly my mind went straight to The Oil Exchange in Crown Point. They have always taken care of me every time I've went to them. I've been a NWI peep for over 40 yrs.Lol. Thank God I live about 8 or so mins from them but it was 5:53pm (they close at 6pm) when i pulled out of my driveway.. So I was DEF praying to make it on time so I cld humbly ask if they cld plz fill my tires..Well I arrived a minute or 2 after 6pm and cld see the bays were shut down but by God's grace the open light was still left on so I figured id pull around to see if anyone was still in there that I cld see. I was INCREDIBLY BLESSED to see a young man (Mo, who I learned is the new store manager before I was leaving) acknowledge me quickly and politely headed out the door to see what I needed. He first told me he was very sorry but everything was already shut down for service otherwise he'd get me right in.. I said oh no.. I just need air in my tires please.. He didn't hesitate for a second. He said no problem, opened the bay door and another young friendly gentlemen came out with Mo and they both filled all my tires in a heartbeat even after he doubled checked my door for proper air pressure.I know it might be small to some but God gave me a HUGE BLESSING thru Mo and his team. He didn't have to come outside after hours to see what I needed but he did. He didn't have to open the door and get his teammate to grab the air nozzle machine but he did. He didn't have to take the time to help or listen to me, but he did. That's TRUE top notch customer caring quality service!! ???I've read several bad reviews for this oil exchange and it's heartbreaking. I've always received WONDERFUL care starting back in the 90s. It's no secret that some people care more than others. Trust me, I've met SEVERAL that have done me wrong. But I've also made my share of HORRIBLE mistakes and PRAISE GOD that I'm forgiven and set FREE. His mercies are NEW EVERY morning. PRAISE JESUS!!So I encourage anyone who has been hurt or done wrong with car shops to give Oil Exchange another shot. “Please please listen Do NOT go to Duke oil. The service is horrible!! Let me explain. I've been going to Duke of oil for about 3 yrs and have taken all my cars for service. I came in for my usual service and was informed that they could not service me because the oil pan has been strip. My response was no one informed me and that this is the ONLY PLACE where I get my oil changes from. He said, oh I'm sorry no one ever told you but, your plugs are stripped and there's a plug there so,we don't want to remove it if we can't put it back on. Also, they Fired the previous manager because he wasn't doing his job. He kept stressing that. But, I like what does that have to do with me & predicament your establishment left me in. He then suggested I go to Duke of oil complete auto service down the street. Larry & Gary didn't even look at it and quoted me a price of 800 for a oil pan for my Lexus Rx350. I explained to him that I have been getting my oil serviced at Duke of oil for years & no one told me the condition of my oil pan. He basically, shredded his shoulders like oh well there's nothing we can do about it. I'm like Wow!!! What??? I then went Firestone and they said, the same thing my oil pan has been stripped and I should go bk there and they should compensate me for stripping the plug and placing an temporary plug in the oil pan and not informing. Also, the price that he quoted me for the oil pan was far cheaper. He quoted me 536.00 versus a whooping 800.00
For a oil pan. This place is lead by children & incompetent adults who don't care about your car and giving quality care to their customers. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER GO BACK!! THEY HAVE MOST DEFINITELY LOST A CONSISTENT LOYAL CUSTOMER!!! THS situation has me a financial set back and frustration that could have been avoided if they would have done their job and informed me of the condition of my oil pan!!! They have incompetent & Lazy staff of worker's & managers who simply

“Today Wednesday June 11, 2024 I decided to come to Duke of oil in Merrillville next to Simon Sez with my white 1999 Ford Explorer for a oil change. I have never been to Duke of oil before so I decided to give them a try as I am not happy with the former oil express in Crown Point new owners and their new prices even with coupon as I had been going to for decades. I met Jimmy the manager right away after pulling in the bay. I am very picky about my car and bring my own high grade oil and filter. Although they do not give a discount if you bring your own, Jimmy did honor a coupon for Duke of oil that had just expired which made me decide to stay for service. I just want to say Jimmy the Manager and technician Matt went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied today. They were both extremely professional, courteous, and I enjoyed talking to them in conversation and they were very attentive to make sure everything was done on my Explorer to spec and took care of a issue too. And because of Jimmy and Matt, Duke of oil will have a new lifelong customer as I will be not only returning for my service needs, but I will be bringing my other vehicles as well. Thank You Both,
