I have been in the Tempest property for more than a year & trying to contact the management regarding the Sod issue as it is uneven. Even after sending multiple emails & voicemails no response from Jennifer who is responsible for this.

Yesterday, something small that happened to my house particularly my fault lol. I emailed them and within hours they were here and fix my problem. When I think of tempest homes, I think of amazing people who care about helping you and your specific need. Shane specifically has been amazing to deal with. I recommend tempest homes to everyone!(:

First, we were manipulated from the beginning. Chris Scheuman told us we could have a fence in our yard prior to moving in. Within the building process we were told that we had to wait until after moved in. We then went through the approval process and asked Jennifer at Tempest about when our yard would be seeded - twice. She told us “dependent on weather” - twice. That was all. We wanted to work professionally with her and the fencing company. Finally after we mentioned a lawyer she was able to give us an exact date. She screwed up again because we did ask for sod through out the whole yard afterall. That took weeks to finally get laid. The lawn company supposedly needed a fence panel down and since I couldn’t get a straight answer on when the sod would get laid, I just told the fence company to complete the fence because we had dogs and I have a bad back. The lawn company then told the fencing company to take a fence panel down. NO ONE talked to me - The homeowner - about this decision. I had to yell on a few voicemails before anyone would tell me the sod was supposed to get laid the next day. Tempest needs a better project manager who considers the customers needs.Throughout the building process I asked Chris Scheuman for an upgraded fireplace option and sent him a picture of another fireplace in a recently built tempest home. He clearly didn’t want to do the extra work and just said there was 1 standard option. So I couldn’t get my requested fireplace. After speaking with a few neighbors I found out he tried the same tactic with them and they said they went to the vendor and the vendor said it was the same price and they could build the fireplace as requested. Again, Chris Scheuman manipulated the home building process for us.There were a few more things that Chris said no then we’d ask a friend within the company, such as wanting a bathtub in the master bathroom. Its clear tempest made a bad contractual partnership with the local lawn company. We are in a neighborhood that use to be a field. All lawns need topsoil prior to seeding. The lawn company wouldn’t add top soil. All lawns with seeding are clearly struggling to grow grass and the homeowners are forced to spend extra money and time to try to get grass. Many homeowners in this neighborhood are fighting for repairs on their home because there is a home warranty and tempest is clearly trying to save money and not fix those repairs and blame the homeowner for the issue. Such as roof leaks, bad insulation, bad windows. Those homes are less than 2 years old and the problems were present for the 1 year walk through.During the building process, we had to walk around the house daily to check on mistakes, such as them not installing an upgraded bathtub and the wrong light fixtures. The company’s main goal is to make money, not the satisfy the customer who is making a large investment .Service: Home building

Don't buy or build with them. I could write a lot of stuff but don't have enough room.

Tempest is terrible. Our house was built 2 1/2 years ago. Our drive way is cracked all the way a crossed and we found a 33 foot crack in our foundation they had repaired before we moved in and did not disclose that information. Now there is a fight between the flooring lady and the concrete company to decide who is fixing it. Our bathtub cracked after less than 6 months of being in the home. Its just a fight to get our stuff fixed right.

I've had my home for 3 years. Drywall is the wrong thickness, roof I'd getting bad, (according to my ins co.) And it's just a cheap build. I will never buy another tempest home nor will recommend them. And I have an architectural engineering degree.

Horrible to do business with. Cannot meet deadlines or schedules. Will not return calls or emails until you threaten with a lawyer. Different people will give you different answers. Will tell you want you want to hear to make a sale. Will build across utility and drainage easements without concern. Even grass seed and landscaping was done improper planning and prep.

We had a great experience building a home in the Auburn Meadows subdivision with Tempest/Timberstone homes. This is the third home we have built, all with different builders in different areas of the country. By far this was our best experience. We are very particular about what we want in a home and the quality level we want it done at. Tempest/Timberstone homes not only met but exceeded our expectations. Our salesman Chris was great. He was a true partner in helping us spec out the exact home and options we wanted. We peppered him with endless questions about options, etc. If he didn’t have the immediate answer, he was always happy to investigate it and get back to us promptly. When minor issues popped up during the build, as they always do, Barney the General Manager was never too busy to discuss with us, took our concerns seriously, and worked with us to find a solution. In particular, at the end of our build we had a hard date we had to move in by. Barney and his production manager Andy went above and beyond to make sure we were able to move in on time. In addition, now that the purchase is complete, they have still been responsive and timely in fixing any warranty issue that popped up.What impressed us most about Tempest/Timberstone homes was the integrity of their people. From top to bottom we found them to be honest, friendly and customer pleasing. We get the real feeling that they are part of this community and take a real pride in the homes they build here.
