My daughter and I drove her new-to-us vehicle from Madison, WI to Purdue for a college visit. Halfway to Chicago i realized I never took it to my excellent mechanic to give it a once over. But, too late at that point.Saturday morning we decided to take a little tour around the area to get a feel for it. And of course just as we were getting ready to drive home, the check engine light came on. Almost 300 miles from home - not a good feeling. I started looking for repair shops. I saw Herrera's was open. The reviews all said how pleased they were with the service and what a great guy Mr. Herrera is.Turns out the reviews were all true and then some. I explained the situation. He offered to run a diagnostic and possibly if it was a quick job he could do it, but he didn't want to promise anything.Turned out it was a coolant sensor and he called for a replacement part immediately. He said we didn't have to do the repair- he could return the part if we didn't use it. He wasn't pushy or impatient and was not at all condescending when he explained the problen. I gave him the go ahead and much sooner than I expected it was finished. My daughter and I were surprised at how reasonable the bill was.I realized later that I set myself up to get a highly inflated bill by being honest about our situation. Fortunately Mr. Herrera was just as honest back. I cannot thank him enough, nor can I recommend him highly enough. If my daughter chooses Purdue and has a car with her, she will use Herrera's for service even though there are probably places closer to campus.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Legit some of the nicest mechanics. The prices are really good. Car over heating and a/c issues. I figured my car would be down for a couple days. Nope couple hours later they call. Super happy with the price of the repairs made and how fast it was done. A++ they will be my go to mechanics from now on.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I literally "dropped in" on the Herreras panicking over some vandalism to my hood latch that would not allow me to gain entrance to my motor compartment. Had earlier called a few shops. Didn't want any involvement and suggested it to be a body shop repair.It took all of 17 minutes for this shop to make the repair and the cost was reasonable! This is a shop with the "Midas Touch".Service: General repairs & maintenance

Excelente servicio, cambiaron el valero derecho de mi auto los demás talleres estaban ocupados y no citas próximas Héctor estaba ocupado pero dijo que tenía tiempo de cambiar el Valero sin problema alguno. Definitivamente rápido y aun precio accesible se los recomiendo.

Hands-down the best mechanic I’ve ever been to. Before I found them, I hated going to the mechanic’s, and always suspected I was getting cheated. Herrera’s isn’t flashy, but they’re honest and they will fix your car. They do good work, they do it quick, and they charge a fair price.
