“This by far is the biggest and great VFW I’ve ever been in!! Felt like I was home!! The Commander is amazing and shows great leadership! I live 90 mins away but will be going there to hang out with other veterans. The atmosphere is unmatched !”

“It was my childhood all the way up to now, my adulthood, still there providing the same joy. The “Center” was everything to the black community and I thank God that it’s still here. Going in there, especially upstairs, almost gives me chills! So many memories. I recommend they let the generation today experience that, if possible!”

“I always find a fondness for the randomness of a visit to any Goodwill. I usually go in, not exactly with any particular items in mind and typically exit with, at least, a small hand full of items that I didn't even know I needed. Good time killer too.”

“Friendly staff, excellent selection, and they’re always putting new things out on the shelves throughout the day. Hours are great too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bathrooms are generally fairly dirty- not filthy, but could definitely use attention.”

“I love the ymca. My biggest beef with this one is the parking. It being downtown and 99.9% of the parking has to be in the parking garage. This made it so hard as a mom with small kids and babies. So so hard!! I also wish we had a play/game room for kids and families. The y seems to have gotten away somewhat from "family" it seems to be more geared towards adults working out only. That is great but I miss when the y brought families and friends together. Play and learn is great but I wish they were open more in the afternoon. I litterly need the exact hours they are closed right now 12-3 pm. The one place that is family oriented is the pool. Unfortunately our pool is closed yet again for Maintenance. Please add a small slide for the kids !!! Seems like our pool is closed a lot. I tried to go the other day and they were closed again ! I knew they were going to be closing in the fall because the website said so but I checked and it didn't say it was currently closed that I seen nor was there anything on the door when we arrived. There was a sign on the desk when we walked in. They said it will be down a total of about 5-6 weeks. Hopefully this will be the last time for a while that it will be closed !!Now what I like about the y. It's a great place for Kokomo . Most the staff is nice and friendly. The family locker rooms are very nice and clean most of the time. The play and learn feature is nice so parents can work out and leave thier children with staff. The hours could use some tweaking as I mentioned. The sauna is nice. I love the pool when it is open lol! I do enjoy going into chapel at times for prayer and quiet time. I love that the y is christian based although I would love to see more of that incorporated like it used to be. Things I would love to see added a water slide for the kids, a family play and game room for young kids and all ages to come together , red light therapy would be fantastic, better parking options for parents with young kids. More hours In The afternoon for play and learn, and an outdoor pool would be something so great for Kokomo. I know that would compete with our city water park so I'm not sure they would do that but it would be great if they did .overall I give our ymca 4 ? 's but I hope they do make a few changes . There is always room for improvement.”
