Yesterday my daughter and I attended a Fall porch pot class at Walnut Ridge Nursery. Folks, you missed out on a great opportunity! Beautiful weather, friendly staff, informative instructor (thank you, Mike!). We were encouraged to add as many plants/as many varieties as we wanted to the HUGE pot provided, given helpful suggestions on design, and given a secret potion (!) to guarantee plant growth. For a relaxing, reasonable activity, keep an eye open for Walnut Ridge classes!

We recently purchased our second tree and all of the staff was excellent to deal with, minus the owner. He continued to argue with us about our tree needing to be staked. In less than 24 hours after them planting it, it was leaning. He showed up early this morning with no notice and called me 2 hours later to tell me he fixed it. Yet here he is on video doing nothing but shaking it around and stomping on the dirt. We will stake it ourselves and take his service into consideration for the future. Good thing we have a warranty.

I was walking around today in this place hoping to find something special and as I walked around no one helped. A man saw us but he just kept ignoring us. As he saw us he didn't ask if he could help or nothing he just walked by. I had to get his attention and he immediately said he couldn't help me and that I needed to go to the front desk and he apologized over and over. Customer service is the number 1 in my eyes. If people are not acknowledged or pursued or just ignored that is not acceptable in any company at all!!!! Because of this act I simply left and will not come back. I figure they don't need my money if this is all they offer. My kids were with me and saw this act as well. Apologies mean nothing if you repeatedly ignore customers. Then you apologize because you know it's wrong.

I picked up a load of bulk topsoil on Tuesday of this week. I was VERY impressed with the quality of the dirt. In years past, I've purchased topsoil from other places, and it was lumpy and full of clay, wood and trash. The topsoil at Walnut Ridge was even covered, so it was very scoopable and not full of water.
Last year, I was interested in a Hibiscus plant, but I knew that they are hard to grow in this area. The employee at Walnut Ridge showed me a Harty Hibiscus, and it grew very well. I expect to see growth on it again this year. Thanks Walnut Ridge for being a quality nursery!
