“This was such a great place to take my kids (ages 3, 4, 6 and 7) who are VERY into firefighting/first responders right now. The man who did the tour is a retired history teacher and loves firefighting. He did a great job! They have a staged bedroom area that the kids go in and the guide talks about what to do in case of a fire. They also have a kitchen area with appliances that “smoke” and he talks about fire safety in the kitchen. Then he walks you around and explains the evolution of fire fighting carts/carriages/trucks! The kids got to sit in one and wind the siren. They have a lot of interesting pieces of fire equipment history and I learned a lot but it was also accessible and engaging for the kids.5/5 stars, highly recommend!”
“We have had multiple interactions with Mark and not only is he professional but also kind, patient, knowledgeable, and understanding. He is excited and passionate to share his craft. He possesses all the great traits a good teacher should. I would definitely recommend booking a session with him. He gives you 100% of his attention. It is a shame that one bad post on social media could hurt years of hard work and dedication when people are ignorant to a situation. I know that he works hard and is very customer oriented. Book your session now!!! You will not be sorry!!!”
“I gifted my son a beginner blacksmith class as a birthday present. He had an awesome time and learned very much. Since then I've built him a small coal forge and he continues to learn and build. Craig has a wealth of experience and is a great instructor and mentor.”

“I absolutely love Unorthodox! This shop boasts offering up some awesome oddities, curiosities, antiques, and art; and they're definitely making good on that and more. You'll find so many cool items here, including books, home goods - like decor and candles, jewelry, pins, t-shirts, prints, cards, teas, and so many other great options for yourself, your home, and gifting! If you're looking for a spot to shop for really unique and interesting stuff, Unorthodox is definitely a great spot to check out!”
“Chris does great work. He was very helpful in allowing me to explore what I wanted my frame to look like, and I ended up choosing one that looked old and worn for my western print which was exactly what I wanted. Based on quotes I received from other places, he’s also by far the most affordable. Quick turnaround as well!”
“What a great space to exhibit artwork. Rhonda Goodall has created a unique creative space that is generous and warm, well lit, and open. I went to the opening for Carol Henry’s photographic exhibition called “Naturing” — an exhibit in association with the Louisville Photo Biennial.”

“I had no idea this gallery existed unitl I read about a local artist who has collected debris (drift wood, doll heads, Styrofoam, bic lighters glass, wire, etc.) from the Ohio River, a lot of it from the Falls of the Ohio to use in his art pieces that are currently on display at the gallery. It was fascinating. A decent size gallery with multiple rooms and an additional artist or two's work was on display. The hours of the gallery are only from noon till 4 Thurs/Fri/Sat. but well worth the trip. There were some lovely pieces of art in the front of the gallery, which is located on the 2nd floor of a building next to 21 C and across from the KMAC museum. The artist we went to see pieces were in the back of the gallery. It was amazing to see the snowman collection and the animial collection of pieces made primarily from Styrofoam that he found. It was super creative. There were also some creepy doll heads that he found all lined up on shelves in one room. It was cool and creepy at the same time. I will post pictures of the creatations we viewed. Well worth a trip downtown and a couple of bucks in a parking meter to check it out.”
“I had a really wonderful experience! I went in to get the glass replaced on a broken Potterybarn photo and they went above and beyond. Not only did they replace the glass, they also repainted chipped areas of the frame where the broken glass had scratched it during shipping. I had it back in my hands in a little over a day. Thank you for the quick service and great results!”
“Very very very cool and unique gallery to support local artists. Also a huge price range so it’s affordable for everyone. And their dog Roman (employee of the month) was super rad!”
“An interesting free self guided tour to watch artisans in glass making ornaments and paperweights. A roving attendant is available to ask questions. Learning the basics to melting the raw glass, loading a rod, shaping, coloring and the use of alternating heating, rolling, cooling, etc was enjoyable. An excellent gift shop with a broad range of low to high end pieces is the centerpiece. There is also a commercial hands on area available as well as a paid tour to participate with glass workers.”
“Love this art gallery on the heart of the Highlands! A wonderful array of local art, jewelry, pottery, and more!! 32 years in business days it all! Perfect for gifts!”
“The underground railroad is fascinating to learn about meeting one of the descents of the George Washington Carter family was interesting and amazing experience. The African American history displayed and told here is absolutely beautiful also i wish there was more displayed but hopefully in the future they do display more African American history in this museum. But overall such a great experience here”
“Don Cartwright has built a fantastic collection of local artists' work in a gorgeous, spacious gallery. There is eclectic to traditional paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and glass work. From someone just starting their collection, to the most serious collector, anyone can find something within their budget.”

The first time was around the holidays and the second was last week. I had an awesome experience both times! The first time I was able to make a glass galaxy globe. The second visit I was taught how to blow glass and I made an ornament as well as a bowl! I had an amazing time and plan to come back again!!”
