I have to say I was fairly upset earlier today with how my transaction went. I complained and I got a call back from the manager of the branch. He was very helpful and kind and I will continue my banking with German American. I appreciate the extra mile.

I wish I could give you 0 stars. your customer service is awful, your app shows that payments are taken out immediately, but then you turn around and take it out over a week later, over drafting the account and then you have the audacity to charge an overdraft fee and say it was our fault. You claim to have overdraft protection but you continuously allow the account to be overdrawn. No one I've talked to has been helpful and they don't know what they're talking about

I have used German American for many years. Had an issue with our new bank here in Washington I just wanted to cash my check . It had my name and was a German American check. She asked for I'D. I'm thinking great security I give her a military I'D. That's not good for her so I give her my drivers licence all I thought she'd do is make sure it was me and give me my cash. But J. M. had to make it a long drawn out process and when she did give me my money, which took twice as long as it normally takes she didn't count it back to me she had a real poor attitude. People I've been wanting to start a savings account there but she changed my mind.

Average employees are uneducated on the products and not customer oriented. They're behind on most modern financial products. Their website claims the customer service line is open until 6pm but at 5:09pm they're closed. Zero after hours support. Basically they exist to hold money and don't care about customers.
