They judge us for not being there for are cat. He had every single shot. Treatments. All his surgeries. I tried to save his life. He was to far gone. We loved him dearly ❤️. Now they are saying we can't adopt other cat. He will always be on our hearts.

Went to adopt a dog and was told that I would need a wait a week for some application before I could even see any animals I'm guessing this is why they don't adopt any animals out because they want you to wait for so long I don't have all week off of work to worry about doing an application before I could even see an animal makes no sense just another person walking away that has the ability to adopt and take care of a dog long-term

So we walked in, not very forthcoming. Three ladies in the very tiny office. I walk in and they looked at my 2 baby kittens and the one lady behind the desk looked at the other lady and said do you want to foster two kittens and she rudley said, nope. With a cruddy look on her face. She said no we can't take them especially them being so young. I didn't expect to be turned down. But I was. Wouldn't recommend this place as far as needing help. She said try animal control. Just really not what I expected at all. To walk into three ladies with the shitiest mugs on their faces. Smile ladies be blessed we have another day at life. I mean geez!

My son and I visited the SAS for two reasons, one to inquire about possibly volunteering time there and two to possibly pet or see some animals. My son filled out an application and was never contacted back. No call, no email nothing. Everything there seems to be away from public view also. There was one mangy looking dog that resembled a hyena crossbreed. I felt sorry for it being alone and caged. The two volunteers, staff we encountered also seemed unfriendly as well. I’m not trying to be mean, just honest with what I saw.

He was so ready for a family and we're grateful to Rosie's that he's as a part of ours now!

Rosie's sets the example for animal shelters in Indianapolis. They care deeply about the animals they rescue and take excellent care of them. I highly recommend adopting from them.

They do not answer their phone. They do not return phone calls. They do not explain that you have to fill out an application and make an appointment before you can see any dogs. They do not update their website when dogs are adopted period

Scamming the good faith of people - this is a BUSINESS, not a not for profit.
Zero investment and zero expenses, not even property taxes. They treat animals as commodities, like Goodwill. They get donations which they sell for profit.

Staff is amazing and accommodating. We were allowed to visit our adopted pup every day until he was finished w his medication cleared by the medical staff to go home. They keep crates very clean, bowls washed and are very hygienic.

Wish I could give 100 STARS to this animal shelter! I just adopted a cat that had a few special needs when he was surrendered to the Southside Animal shelter. What a fantastic job they did with him over the 5 weeks he was with them before me being able to adopt him! He's the sweetest little blk cat... just full of energy & love! He was a great find for me to adopt! He's doing very well & is happy in his new-forever home! He's very loved & well cared for with me! Thank you, Southside Animal Shelter for the great "compassionate" work that you do to rescue dogs-cats as you find good families for them to go to! God bless you all!

To me, if any place that cares for pets, it's my kind of place!

We found our newest addition here! The staff are very friendly! They do a great job of making sure your new fur baby is ready to go before you take them home! Great experience.
