Former employee highly don’t recommend. Very unprofessional. Management doesn’t care about your health nor well being . Can’t keep employees but expect you to do your job and the next

Like being in Christian jail. They went out of their way to reach out to probation and got me violated. Go to Lighthouse in Lafayette - they actually regard you as a human.

I came through this program in 2013 for the 3rd time in 2 years. I was broken and ready to change. Harbor Light gave me the tools I needed to become who I am today and I am so grateful that they took in an addict like me. I was a chronic relapser, but they always welcomed me back in with loving arms. I would not have been able to come as far as I have without the guidance I received from the HLC and their amazing staff.

From a family perspective, this Center is a godsend. They are compassionate but no-nonsense. They were able to answer all our questions and put our family member (about to detox) at ease. Unfortunately our family members who have this problem are often secretive. The way the staff approaches that is to just ask the questions head-on that need to be answered. They didn’t make her feel ashamed but instead underscored that with hard work, she could reclaim her life. I don’t say this lightly— God bless you all.

This place truly helped save my life. The structure in their facility was exactly what I needed in order to regain control of my life. The staff is absolutely amazing and I would recommend this place to anybody.

This place saved my life! I needed real , in your face recovery and the reality check that HLC gave me. I had been everywhere numerous times and it wasn’t until I went back for the 3rd time that it stuck. There’s good and bad everywhere, but the pros outweighed the cons tremendously. If you’re willing to get sober it doesn’t matter where you go, but this place is a great start.

They most definitely try to run this place like a prison. Some of the staff, particularly the “security”, take their job waaaaaay too seriously. It’s almost like they think they’re better than you bc they’re staff. It’s ridiculous!!! They are very disrespectful when trying to inforce rules. I get it, there are rules but the condescending tone and belligerent behavior is unacceptable. They definitely need to teach their staff about empathy vs authority.

I got out of Harbor light Center on my 19th birthday after 2 weeks of detox, and I can honestly say the staff, the way it was ran, and even those that were there for the same reason as me, have made a BIG difference in my life today. It has been almost a decade and i now have a healthy family and doing great.

If you have no insurance and can't afford $1800 a day for a spot at other comfy detox rehabs, Harbor Lights is the only place to go that I know of. If you donate money to charities, Salvation Army Harbor Lights has one of the lowest Admin cost. For every dollar you donate most goes for helping Addicts and Alcoholics, not paying a paper pusher or the CEO of the company. Most, not all of the complaints I have read are caused by being understaffed and extremely underfunded. If you have ever delt with a person going through withdrawal symptoms, you know they are very agitated and short tempered. They can be verbally and physically abusive. Try dealing with that every day and see how it affects you, if you have a loved one that is in recovery or are clean and sober yourself. Please consider donating to Harbor Lights, you would be helping others who can't afford it. Trying to detox at home with no medical care is pain that I can't describe, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

If I could give a 0 for customer service I would. I’ve been attempting to get my father some help with getting off the streets after a major heart attack and a new diagnosis of Diabetes type 1. With all going on you would assume people would be professional and educated enough to atleast deliver information in an empathetic manor, however this has not been the case with Harbor Light Center. I’ve called 2 days in a row speaking with Lesley the Residential treatment Person I certainly hope she doesn’t have a title as a manager, and she has by far made this the most frustrating process possible. I’ve worked on customer service for well over 15 years and I’m now thinking about picking up some volunteer services due to the difficulty of getting assistance for my family. I pray that anyone is this situation be treated with care regardless of the delivery of information.
