When I reserved my pod I was specifically told I did not need a permit to have it placed on the public street parking. Many weeks later I came to find out I DO need a permit. Applying for any permit in Indianapolis is an ordeal. I applied for the permit almost a month ago and now I’m one week from my pod delivery date and the city has done nothing to process the permit. I called pods for help with this and they were adamant that no one ever told me I didn’t need a permit. Not true. They informed me that if I don’t have a permit, no pod will be dropped off. So I called UHaul and found out their boxes will actually fit in my driveway. They were very nice, no permit required, and it’s going to cost $1000 less for my out of state move! Just start with uhaul and don’t bother with pods.

BEWARE.....PODS will pull you in with promotional pricing and fail to tell you that it will drastically increase......when we discovered this we contacted them for resolve and they would not cooperate. We've moved on to the newest competitor in self storage, in Town and are beyond delighted w/their company and services. We are Top Producing Real Estate Agents and used to refer PODS.....no longer will we be doing that. Good Luck PODS, you're new competition is undoubtedly going to take over!!

I thought I was having a good experience, but once my pod was delivered. My TV broke in the process. I had it covered secured to the back of the container. I had pillow surround unit and tested to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.
After getting in contact them them for the 4th time with them Purposely, not calling me, I got a call from Susie. Susie made it very clear they will not cover the cost. She said "containers are lifted carefully and no issues can happen" Obviously, it wasn't handled with care because my TV is broken.
Going to definitely involve my lawyer because not only did they not Ask for pictures or ask to the truck driver that saw the pod, and how bad of condition it was inside but made a ruling before even getting pictures?!?!
Save your money and use Uhaul because this was TERRIBLE!

We moved from Idaho to Indiana and didn’t have the funds to hire a moving company. Too many items to rent a truck and age would not let us walk up a ramp to load it. We were told about Pods.
Every contact we had with Pods, the representative was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and understanding and willing to explain how it worked.
We had 2 large pods for our trip. We had a week to load the first one and it was even with the ground and level. We took our time to load it, and they did an exchange for the second pod and we also had a week to load it. We could have had as much time as we wanted but this worked for us.
The first pod was delivered the day we arrived in our new home in Indiana. The second one arrived after we emptied the first one. We emptied the second one and we were completely moved. Every time they delivered or picked up a container, they were knowledgeable, professional and extremely friendly. The time was never more than 15 minutes in either state. What they did was take our fear of moving out of the equation.
We cannot say enough good about this company. No damage and they arrived exactly the way we packed them. All we had to do was drive to our new home and enjoyed the trip. In this day and age, you don’t find companies wanting and willing to help and do a complete job with no issues. Thank you.

Recommend PODS for cross-country moves when you have time to be without the contents in the container. Easy to work with and cost effective.

PODS contracted with me to move from Indianapolis IN to Marietta OH, after I loaded 2 Pods, PODS decided that they would not move me! Bad business practice!

PODS was great! They were so helpful and communicated very well. The drivers were also very kind. It took the stress out of moving my stuff across country.

I used three PODS for my move. They are not set up to effectively coordinate more than one unit at a time. You have to manage them. The PODS varied in condition, cleanliness, and interior eyebolts to tie down loads, contributing to damage. The agents varied from excellent to average to not helpful at all. They need a coordinated training manual and playbook. Overall it's a 50/50 shot on value.

It is an expensive service. But the customer service employee I spoke to when getting my quote was amazing!The pods have a popcorn type ceiling and it gets all over your stuff. It will also scuff items.
