I live near here and never see anyone using this area. I know it was used for a few events last year after it was finished but I haven't seen any events since then. I think if it had less concrete and more flora it would be more attractive to people who live around it. Was kind of hoping for some type of summer event but those seem to be planned at other areas in Lawrence.

if you are going here for the ice skating, I'd recommend you go somewhere with real ice. their synthetic ice is not well maintained at all and behaves more like a rubber mat than ice. it felt like dragging metal blades across a rubber-plastic material. there is no slip to the "ice" at all, good luck

It was nice set up but the ice was not real, it was plastic. Couldn’t skate properly, my kids wanted to leave after 30 mins. Never again
