I’ve been going to The Jewelry Judge aka Catherine Folger for many years now. I initially chose to go there based on positive online reviews, as well as her having a private office where her time would be dedicated to me, without distractions. The experience was everything I’d hoped for. While reviewing my jewelry, she gave me her insights into my pieces, best practices for maintaining them, and recommendations on the best places to buy new pieces or have repairs done. In the years since I started going, I have had occasion to show the appraisals to a few jewelers in town. Without fail, each one has mentioned how knowledgeable Catherine is and that her appraisals are “spot on”. Anytime I need appraisals done, I will only go to Catherine. She’s the best!

Spoke to Catherine on the phone and as I was discussing my appointment she gave me some great insight that I hadn't thought about and was really fun to talk to. Excited to meet with her and get a value and her ideas to sell my diamond ring. If you want jewelry appraised or get idea on buying and selling I'd talk to her first.

The owner, Catherine, was SO helpful and friendly. I had recently found a pendant made of diamond and gold at my local Goodwill and decided I wanted it appraised. It wasn't worth too much (just about 20-25 dollars probably sold as part of a low cost Valentines Day promo) and the appraisal didn't take long, so she generously waived the appraisal fee (which would've cost more than the pendants value). I really appreciate someone who is willing to do that rather than being like "sorry, pay the fee". My family regularly shops Goodwill to buy and resell so I'm sure if we ever find any more treasures, we will come to Catherine for an honest appraisal. And if I ever hear someone else is looking for where to go for an appraisal, I will definitely point them towards the Jewelry Judge!

A great experience. I needed my engagement ring appraised for insurance. I emailed her and received a prompt response and an appointment for the same week. At the appointment, Catherine was very professional and friendly. She gave me lots of advice about buying and caring for jewelry and answered my many questions. I definitely recommend her to anyone needing an appraisal on their jewelry!
