I enrolled my child in a youth membership for basketball, given that outdoor activities are limited in December. He's taken swimming lessons in the past and I would sit and watch him swim. Today when we went to pick up his pass, the encounter with the guest services representative was quite uncomfortable. The representative questioned, "What are you going to be doing?" I explained that I would be watching my child, and she suggested I might need to pay for a guest pass. I clarified that I wouldn't be using the facilities myself, as I don't work out. However, she then made a strange comment, saying, "Well, you could go into the bathroom to change your clothes and then go work out; we wouldn't know." I found this remark awkward and accusatory. If I wanted a family membership, I would have opted for that. Despite my lack of interest in working out, I'm sure there are other parents who simply want a safe indoor environment for their children to play. Perhaps the situation was misinterpreted, especially since I was carrying my child's water bottle and backpack? Nevertheless, the facility itself is nice and will gladly pay for guest pass if required to sit and observe.

Love this facility. Spacious, plenty of equipment, clean and great location. I enjoy coming here over the other facilities based on that.

It’s a really nice gym. The employees are great, I love my trainer, my kid loves the kid room.

They made me pay $50 to get out because I lost my parking ticket. Any other gym I've been at has validated a ticket at the front. Literally ridiculous.

When I go to the Y, I use this location about 50% of the time. But I gotta be honest, while the inside facilities are decent, the hassle of dealing with parking makes me less and less likely to come here. Regularly, the entrance won't scan the membership card, and there is frequently a huge line of cars waiting to get in all because the damn gate won't work. I have missed the start to a scheduled class purely because of the parking issues. Additionally, this continues when you go to leave. At least 50% of the time, I'm stuck in a line of cars waiting to get out. The last time I was there, I was stuck for over 10 minutes with a huge line of cars through the parking lot all because one individual couldn't get their parking pass to work. Normally, I'd just go to the other gate...but the second one sit gate had been closed for weeks. Come on Y. You've know about these issues for months. And yet you're still "working on it". You can do better.

Overall good experience and I can get done what I need to even during peak hours. One MAJOR problem that will eventually stop me from coming... waiting in line for 30 mins when leaving. There is always an issue with the exit gates. It's a bad look Y, it's been broke long enough. Time for a new contractor. I can't even use my card or swipe at the entrance, I'd imagine everyone pulls a ticket. PLEASE invest in fixing this issue, it's now overdue!!

I really enjoy the indoor pool, spa, and sauna. I use the indoor walking track too. There are windows all around for natural light, and nice view of the downtown area. The women's locker room is always clean, and parking is easy. I prefer this location, even though it is a little farther for me.

The weekend staff is extremely rude and off putting. The equipment is either broke or should be put out of service due to safety concerns. The Irsays donated the money and the YMCA has failed to maintain the building. When the building opened it became one of the newest and most modern design buildings downtown, however it’s quickly became a facade to the conditions/guest experience that a waits once inside.

Equipment desperately needs an upgrade.. 2 stars at best for that by itselfBut this is probably the best gym in the downtown Indy area, plus the management team is very helpful

It’s a nice gym with lot’s of programs. However, this gym has been outgrown by the community it serves. It’s way too crowded now and there isn’t enough equipment. The only way to get a good workout without long wait times is during odd hours. Hopefully they can figure something out or hopefully expand/build another Y to accommodate the community.

The swim instructors work with you 'where you are' and give useful feedback that you can apply immediately, to improve your skills. Staff is friendly and the facility is very nice.

I just joined. Locker room and showers are clean, but the pool is closed during the hours I'm most likely to be there. PLEASE keep the pool open all day. Not everyone can come early or late. Also there are dusty areas on the gym equipment, seems like no one regularly cleans everything. $61/month is a lot for no pool access and dirty looking machines. I may cancel.
