This place is sooo cool. A few new experiences that we have never done before. Including walking inside of an enclosure with kangaroos and seeings a sloth up close.
That said it was definitely the most expensive trip to the zoo we've ever taken.

We purchased tickets there. Paid extra for the unlimited train rides and 5 animal feedings. The train wasn't running, lady at the roller coaster said it may of had something to do with the giraffes. Whatever that means. The animal feedings are at certain times only. We seen 2 that wasn't till the afternoon and then later seen others that we missed. It would of been nice to have a heads up about that before purchasing. Waste of money!!

had the best experience with the Sloth - they have the Sloth out on a tree right in front of you - the keeper was there, he was climbing around

We went on a cooler day and the crowd was minimal, the facilities were clean and the exhibits were wonderful. I really liked being able to take pictures without a fence between me and the animals and I feel like the zoo really takes care of their creatures. I especially loved the Elephant talk, the kangaroos and the butterfly house, but everything was great. We took two teenagers and they had a great time as well. Fun for any age.

I good variety of animals. The dolphins exhibit was spectacular with the dolphins swimming over the glass tunnel. There were a lot of people and 6 in our group. We were able to get around quite well considering the number of people visiting. The orangutan hanging out in the tall towers was a sight to see at most heights would really frighten most people. The food here is what you would expect, expensive and edible. They do serve Nathan's Hot Dogs, which I happen to enjoy. We did buy tickets in advance on the website. It was very easy to use and made the trip a little faster.

Visited the City Zoo today and had an amazing experience! The enclosures are spacious, and the animals seem well-cared for and active. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they were more than happy to answer all of our questions. The facilities were clean, Highly recommend visiting if you get the chance!

This zoo has only ONE family restroom. Overpriced when there was no animals in the forest section. Been coming here for years and the dolphin show isn’t what it use to be. Completely underwhelming and a waste of time. You’re basically watching a documentary and dolphins jump a few times. You’ll be fine to skip the show! Also, paid extra for attractions and the skyline lift closed at 3. This zoo has a lot of renovations, however I do miss the petting zoo they once had, the playground, and the splash pads. These were there years along. Also, the entrance to get to the main zoo is a pointless long walk. Overall, we are a family of 3 and we spent $175 on entrance tickets and food.

Excellent size walkways, environment was squeaky clean and all the children stayed entertained. Can’t ask for more from a zoo. Price per ticket was a little above average but when you go inside, you can see where it goes. I appreciated all of the landscaping with beauty and pollinator friendly flowers. Elephants, orangutans, chimpanzees, tigers, zebra, giraffe and dolphins were hits with the kids. The thing that impressed me the most was the size of the brown bear, one was absolutely massive.

This zoo is terrific. There are so many interactive exhibits. It was raining the day we went but there was still plenty to do and we didn't mind getting wet. Missed the lemurs but there were so many other things to see. I would highly recommend watching the dolphin show from underneath as well as from poolside. Staff are very educated on the animals within their exhibits and eager to teach.

It's been years since we were here & a lot has changed-doubt if we come back. Prices are ridiculous, some of the staff are just plain rude & nothing is marked very well. We rented an electric cart for my husband (4 weeks post knee surgery) & he asked if there was a veteran discount-the girl (M) sharply said no & was very rude. When we paid for the tickets-$112 for 2 adults & an 8 year old)-pulled cash out & was told I'd have to step down to another line-the only one taking cash. Really....??? So had to wait again for another rude woman to take cash & give us our tickets. The exhibits are not marked well & it was confusing as to where a lot were. We love visiting zoos all over the U.S. & honestly-Indianapolis is nothing I'd be in a hurry to visit again-definitely not worth what they charge.

Really gorgeous zoo off the Canal Walk which connected us to our hotel downtown. The garden in the zoo was lovely and the paths through the zoo are nicely managed and manicured. Lots of animals to see. Feeding the birds was one of our favorite activities. The line to see/feed giraffes and see the kangaroos was quite long with young families so we opted out of that.
