DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR SERVICE!
Just took my girls Nissan Altima in for a door sensor issue. The vehicle was saying the door was open when it actually wasn’t. They took the vehicle in for an hour while we waited. They took out a shim that was wedged under a latch and it seemed to fix the problem, but they told us to come back tomorrow, because they said they needed to replace the latch for some reason, even though the issue appeared to be resolved. We did as they asked and brought the vehicle back the next day. They took the vehicle for another hour and a half while we waited in their lobby. They called us back to return our car. Upon handing us the keys, our vehicle had a new dent and the door does not close flush. They told us we need to take it to the body shop to fix the damage they caused.
They ordered a piece that didn’t need to be replaced, slammed the door on it which caused a crease, removed the new piece that they made us pay for, and put the old piece back on, and told us “sorry.”
They admitted to causing damage to the vehicle and refused to cover any cost for repairing the damage they caused “because the vehicle had been in an accident previously” and “wasn’t properly repaired”
The thing is, they fixed the issue day one when they removed whatever “shim” they spoke of. The issue was completely resolved. It wasn’t until day 2 when they tried replacing a piece that didn’t fit right that caused the damage. We asked them to fix an issue. They then admittedly caused further damage and refuse to cover repairs to the damage that they caused.
Her door now shuts half an inch too deep and has a crease from them trying to slam it shut on a piece that wouldn’t fit right.
What kind of service is this?!
Attached are before and after pictures of taking the Altima to their service center.
They even admitted to causing the damage, and then said it’s not their responsibility to cover repair costs “because the previous repair job was bad”
They had the issue completely fixed, and then caused damage when they tried to upcharge the situation.
Absolutely slimy business practice.
Pay for the damage you caused.
Came to them for help with one issue. Left with 2 new issues that they admitted to causing and refuse to remedy.
The first 4 pictures are before taking the vehicle to Hubler Nissan.
The last 3 pictures are after (see the crease and sunk in closed door)
Make things right and earn the positive review
“Truly Exceptional” is not the terms I have in mind when thinking of this experience. Absolutely abismal.
Mr David Lucas,
We will be in touch to make things right
UPDATE: David’s response
Good Morning,
I understand you frustration with the current door issue you are having. This situation is related to a really, really bad auto body repair on the drivers side of the vehicle. My understanding is that Indy Auto Man did not make the body repair but was noted on there car fax of damage to this area and went thru there inspection process. Vehicle was brought to us on 8/5/24 for a drivers rear door alignment issue causing rear door open light to come on while driving. The only way to correctly fix this issue is to have a replicable body shop fix the current issues related to the accident the vehicle was in. I do not believe that Hubler Nissan should be liable for the bad repairs made to this vehicle causing all of the issues with the drivers rear door.
….
It was not brought for a door alignment issue! It was never ever there for an alignment issue! It was there for a sensor issue. THEY made it an alignment issue, after slamming the door on a piece that didn’t fit right. They fixed the problem DAY 1. We went home and everything was perfect- no alignment issue, no dent. They told us to come back day 2, to replace a latch piece. After waiting in their lobby for 2 hours, they hand us the keys and te

Biggest jerk-offs in the Indianapolis car business. Slow for warranty service, non-transparent communication, over promise and under deliver on service timelines, not proactive in buying/selling process, always required me calling them first to prompt next steps in transactions for both sales and service, condescending used sales manager Jeremy always acted like he's too good to do business. POS dealership selling POS Nissans thank God mine is now sold. I feel bad for the loads of sales reps sitting on the floor twiddling their thumbs.
