This is a wonderful place to take your vehicle. Johnny is amazing. He is always upfront and he tells it like it is he gives you many options of what it could be what it can be and what it may or may not be but he never hides or sugarcoat anything, he is a very good shop manager and I recommend Edwards any day but thank you Johnny. You’re definitely appreciated and I will be back.

Overall: my car was fixed over the course of 4 days (6 hours of labor job), but many new issues were created. Owner is terse but has solid values. Front desk/manager (Johnny George) with his firearm displayed on his hip will tell you that they do *not* stand behind their labor and gives quotes based on his whims without any labor hour/material quotes. Their free courtesy ride on their website is a lie and manager himself said that they do not offer it. Shop opens whenever the manager decides to show up so do not expect a 7:30 opening like claimed.
I am torn because the owner's integrity does not match with the attitudes and ethics of the rest of the staff.
I dropped my Audi off for driveshaft/differential repair, and after the parts arrived on Tuesday, they reported the car would be ready on Saturday. On pickup, I noted a large exhaust leak and the owner (on site that day) noted 1 of the 3 exhaust bolts was not attached. He himself got under the car (middle man in photo below) and helped fix the problem. He has an excellent sense of integrity and work ethic hidden behind a gruff exterior.
To my dismay, a check engine light that was not there when I dropped the car off came up (Code P246E) immediately on start up. He had the light erased but it came up on next start up again and code was confirmed by Makeshift Garage (excellent shop across town, would recommend over this).
When I brought up this issue to the portly desk jockey, he rudely proclaimed that he would not do anything further as the driveshaft/differential were customer provided parts and there's *no warranty on labor*.
Buyer beware: They do not warranty their labor and any parts broken by them during your repair are your responsibility.
Furthermore, a few weeks later, I noticed a leak from my car and a shop in Chicago confirmed that the drain port for the differential was 1/4 turn loose (photo below). Edwards transmissions was supposed to do a drain/fill of the differential and their lack of attention to detail and increasing hubris not only resulted in a half drained differential, but a stubborn refusal to accept their role in this matter. Audi of Iowa City then confirmed a month later that during the removal of the exhaust by ET transmissions, they destroyed both exhaust clamps on either side, most likely due to their lack of experience or attention to detail. Again, the dense manager blamed the customer provided parts for the parts broken by the mechanics at ET transmission.
Would recommend the owner find a better customer representative and better shop foreman to watch over the mechanic's work before the reputation is tarnished over time.

Worst place ever for any kind of repair. We send our truck ford f550 for trans rebuilt pay what they ask and make it clear its our daily work truck we need good job. What they ask we pay bill. We hardly drive 50 miles on trans that they rebuild. We towed it back to shop. They take 2months and 27days to fix it back. Every time new excuse at last the send it back to other shop and they found that wiring issue and that wiring issue because they don't clip it properly and wiring got messed up and even after that the another shop mention them that transfer case bolt wasn't install properly They said they fix it. We bring truck to our place and check there is aa big puddle of transmission fluid under. We check under truck its leaking bad. The owner Kevin one of the rudest and unprofessional human in this world.if there is any kind of negative ranking available on google i love to do that. Its biggest mistake from us to drop truck at Edward's transmission .

Can’t thank Johnny enough, he really saved the day during our National Lampoon’s Vacation back home with a blown transmission in the middle of downtown Indianapolis, 4 kids in car seats, and a wife in tears. He is a genuinely great guy who really cares about his customers, and the transmission he rebuilt is working as good as new. Thank you again brotha - appreciate everything you did for us! Rock Chalk!

They had the lowest price when I called around and offered the best warranty. The transmission guru in that shop knows his stuff. He got my transmission apart, got the new parts ordered, in, and all put back together within a few days time. They will be the ONLY transmission shop I go to in indianapolis. Friendly ppl who know what they are doing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

My Truck was slipping "13 Silverado"took into Edwards on Gasoline Alley figured it was a transmission issue, it did need a rebuild... Johnny was awesome, and the tech's did a awesome job in a timely manner.. Thanks guys for your work... Highly recommend these guys.. Thanks ?

I'm a disabled veteran with a fiduciary Everest transmission to Gavin's received a $4,000 check from my fiduciary never told me for 2 months and then said he did the work and never performed it the transmission is doing worse now than it was I took it there in addition he also had two more thousand dollars on all surprised work and said he wasn't going to get my van back here and it takes 90 days to the VA to get this place really this place sucks they took me for granted and ripped me off for $6,000 dude unauthorized work in addition to not fixing the transmission had it re-inspected half of things that said they did they he wouldn't do the transmission to receive the 4000 up front after he got that he did 2000 more without getting a check first

Hello. I had towed my car here hoping our vehicle warranty would cover the diagnostic charge. Unfortunately, the shop was unable to make any repaairs because it ended up being a TCM failure, which falls under electircal repair, not mechanical. So I had to pay the charge. The shop owner Jonny was nice, but the shop was unable to provide a solution on the charge like a coupon as a first time customer, or a discount. I was not expecting that charge. I have other bills to pay and I don't undersrand having a vehicle warranty if things are not coverered.

Aug 20, 2023 My hat is off to ******* at the Edwards ************************* The problem with my transmission started in 2020. I was very frustrated w the service I received from Edwards Transmission at 55th and Keystone ************ but being angry at ******* was not going to solve the problem. ******* was calm and cool and allowed me to vent. When I realized I needed to calm down ******* was there to take my info explain my options and defuse the situation. Thank you to *******, I will be using Edwards Transmission in the future.******************* ************

I have had nothing but problems from their work. For the last two years I have had transmission issues from their work on my truck. Just like everyone else, they claim it is this part or that part its not their transmission, they charge a fortune and nothing gets fixed. My truck has been towed 3 different times. I have had it! I have a really nice 2014 with 137,000 miles. They have turned it into junk! I have put $8,000+ into it in the last 2 years.Service: Transmission
