The playground was nice enough, there are some chairs placed around for parents to sit in while watching their children play, but there are NO public restrooms available. It looks like there had been at one time under the bridge, but it was chained and locked with no "out of order" signs. The canals have some pretty amazing activities, but not having a public restroom nearby-tanked the rating for me.
Playground: The floor is nice a cushions. There are tube telephones placed around the park. There is a small water fountain for dogs as well as humans.
Toilets: THERE are NO restrooms.
Dog-friendliness: The sign says to keep your dog leashed. I saw people with their dog unleashed, but the dog was very well behaved. There is a water fountain for dogs attached to the bottom of the water fountain for humans.

They tore down shade trees that made a beautiful picnic space and had a wide area where children and older people could play things like kickball, do gymnastics or yoga, play frisbee, etc. and then claimed it was for children. Unsupervised teens, no shade and overcrowding make what was a gem on the Canal a hot, crowded eyesore. This could have been situated elsewhere.

A long stretch of pathways along the canal here in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana... Lots of charming townhouses, pattle boating, geese, ducks, Coy fish and blue gills
Playground: Under construction, yet when it's fixed, let's just say my grandson loves this place
Dog-friendliness: People walk their dogs there every day
Picnic area: Nice places to set down and enjoy a lunch with family or friends

We LOVE the canal!! This park is so fun for all ages.
Playground: Soft tuft and lots of fun for climbers!
Dog-friendliness: They have a small fenced area for dogs next to the park now!
Picnic area: Plenty of places to enjoy a picnic around the canal!

Beautiful park but the public restrooms are locked on a Sunday afternoon. Yes let's put a fountain next to women who have birthed children and not provide any bathrooms. ?
