Customer service is excellent. The tellers are always familiar with their customers. They all make you welcome

Centier has a long way to go in the way of technology, especially for business banking, but the people here are amazing. If you need a bank where you're really known and heard, Centier is fantastic and the team at this branch are top-notch.

When I go into the branch customer service is phenomenal. However my automatic bill payments are always late. I never understood that. I finally called the branch and they told me they use a third party auto bill pay service. Come to find out they take the money out of my account on the due date of the bill then mail a check to the payee. I talked to the third party service and they told me to start scheduling my payments 14 days in advance. This is a huge inconvenience and I can't believe it. I came from a four branch hometown Bank and autobill pay there was exactly that, automatic. I thought I was upgrading coming to a bigger branch but I think I was wrong.

The SLOWEST payment processing time in the Midwest. They will also charge you fees excessively during a pandemic.

OMG!! I just spent the last 15 minutes of my life trying to cash a check drawn on this bank. They asked for ( and got ) way too much information including my fingerprint and then had to call the issuing company for a human being to verify that they actually issued it. It was a check for $154, of which they charged me $5. I'm thinking ? that this is overkill!!! (Unless you're into that kind of paranoia!)

Mortgage and Banking - highly discourage you from using this bank. I used the bank for a construction loan and with that I was encouraged to create a checking account. On a practical day-to-day level, their website is difficult to use and certainly not like the service that you get from a high quality internet bank. From customer service, it's just a phone bank and you can rarely get a hold of someone that can actually help you. That being said, I have just had my mortgage sold to Shellpoint. That company has a nearly non-functional website and has horrible online ratings for predatory practices, poor website, poor customer service etc. I would avoid a bank like Centier if you can!

Wow I should have read the reviews before hand, they now only backup their lack of follow through. I started the process for a new construction loan through the Carmel branch. Spoke with Jason and was told everything looked great and that he would call me the next day. A few days later nothing. So I called him and he apologized for not calling and said he was wrapping a few things up and would call me the next day. Again, nothing. No worries. Hendricks county bank has been great to deal with and has gotten our business.

I didn't trust the reviews before I tried to get my mortgage through Centier Bank. I should have. The few times I've called the call center, they have been snippy and borderline rude. They ordered an appraisal (and charged me for it) before the inspection was done. Most places will wait until afterwards just in case the deal goes sour due to the possible issues with the home. This was the case for me. So now I'm out a couple hundred dollars with no mortgage and get snippy responses when I try to figure it why it happened like this. They only have one guy doing all the loan set ups, and that's just not feasible for timely upkeep of accounts. Especially, getting new mortgages set up. It's just not a sustainable business model the way it's currently managed. If I'm going to spend tens of thousands on loan interest, it's not going to be with a business that is illogical, slow (or chaotic) in their responses and mildly rude during routine phone calls. When I called to cancel, I asked how long the cancellation would take once they received my formal cancellation letter. The lady on the phone wouldn't answer directly. I had to ask four separate times in different ways before the lady on the phone snapped at me and told me "the same day." Then why hide how long it takes of its closed so quickly? Then she quickly brushed me off with an insincere "have a nice day" and hung up.

This is a review for the mortgage process. If I could give it zero stars I would! **BEWARE of this mortgage / business lender!! I was in the market to finance a small investment property in Indy and was referred to this bank. I have had a number of mortgages, re-fi over the years and have never experienced a disorganized, unprofessional disaster as Centier Bank services. The first indication should have been when the loan officer would not return my phone calls or when he did, it was days after I had left a message and when he finally got around to returning my calls, it would always be after 5pm. Additionally, I would submit, then re-submit documents to them, only to be repeatedly asked for the same documents I had previously submitted multiple times. Once I finally obtained a closing date and the sellers were getting anxious, the bank continued to delay, make unreasonable requests from me. I couldn't understand why the last minute requests were being made three days before closing when I had been well into this process for nearly 3 months and why they waited until the eleventh hour to put the loan together. I felt they were scrambling, last minute, to get everything together. The loan officer would continue to call me at the end of the day when the banks were either closed or closing and my hands were tied until the following business day. It was complete and utter disorganization at its worst. I dutifully responded to all their requests and scrambled until they informed me the night before closing at 9:30 pm that some of my tax returns, are problematic. (Apparently they didn't like how I had off-set some spousal maintenance in my returns from the prior year). At this point I was done. It made no sense. If the tax returns are not required in the loan process, then why is the bank even considering them??? I decided at this time they had no clue what they were doing and they could not even justify their own madness. I decided not to use them and just pay cash for my property. They may advertise their low interest rate investment loans, but I would rather have a conventional rate and have a much smoother process than deal with ignorant, disorganized and unprofessional mortgage lenders. Beware of this practice. Although I lost a little money, I am glad I pulled the plug and ran away from this train wreck situation.
