We lost our mufasa, and the staff was so kind and considerate to allow me time to grieve with him, then after about a week we received a hand written card offering condolences for our loss. They are truly amazing

Amazing and quick care for a injured timberdoodle we brought in, they are really efficient when it come to replying to messages, drop off, and the time to the counter. The staff was very cheery and clearly knew what they were doing (and admited when they didnt) truely a amazing place for anyone with a injured animal

Would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you have the hundreds to thousands of dollars on unnecessary testing. Brought my bearded dragon and the first thing the vet asks me is how much are you willing to spend on your animal? This is absolutely not okay care or a way to talk to someone bringing in their pet for assisted care. The entire experience was degrading and disgusting. Absolutely no empathy or sympathy from the vet. They wanted $109 more on top of the exam fee just for supplements I could buy online/pet store since he has not been eating as much with his sore on his lip I brought him in for. Instead of giving antibiotics for his lip and giving me a list of things I can do at home they said they would not treat his lip until either I do testing for $300+ or he starts eating more and gets his calcium up even though the lip sore (they refuse to treat) is the cause.

I can't praise the vets and staff at Avian and Exotics enough. I have taken 5-6 of my tiny furbabies to them for care over the years, including ferals that no other vet would handle. They are so calm, competent, and loving with each one. Each vet I have seen has provided good information and counsel when I have had to make difficult decisions, and my trust has grown deeper with every interaction. I am genuinely amazed at the breadth of expertise this clinic offers. I remember waiting with my sick hedgehog, watching a macaw in the aviary, and seeing animal control carry in an injured deer! When I think about how much compassion and care they give to so many suffering critters that have few options in this region, I tear up. There's not a better, kinder group of professionals in Indiana. ... (Also, some more trivial things I appreciate are that they offer booking by text, that the waiting room is lovely, and that they allow cagemates to come in together if that's better for them.) (And unlike in human healthcare, I've never seen an actually unreasonable charge from a veterinarian.)

This place has done an amazing job! My very first visit, I ended up losing my rabbit at no fault of the clinic. She had a blockage and was too weak to survive intervention. They were so kind and compassionate. I went in for my second visit with my other rabbit and chinchilla. Everything went well and they handled my animals with care. They were very thorough with communication and were happy to answer any questions I had. I had my third visit for my rabbit to get spayed. I dropped her off at 8am and picked her up a little before 4pm. They kept me informed throughout the day and did a wonderful job. She was back to normal the next day. They even texted the next day to make sure she was doing great after surgery. I highly recommend this place!

I will say they were helpful when my pet was sick. But what else I'll say is some of their staff is very nice, some are disgustingly unprofessional. My ferret got very sick and I felt awful about it and this rude vet berated me on the phone and gave me a ton of attitude when I was going through an incredibly difficult time. If I knew her name I would say it, unfortunately I don't. I trust their services, but beware of the attitude you're probably going to get.

We found a nest of baby bunnies that our dog got into. 3 of them were badly hurt. I called and scheduled a drop off of the bunnies. I got there a little early, texted and let the person, Bo, know (who I had been in communication with). I waited for an hour for them to pick up the 3 newborn bunnies. In the afternoon I reached back out to Bo and asked how they were doing. This was their response. DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMALS OR WILDLIFE TO THIS PLACE. They have no compassion or empathy for the people who care about the animals coming in to this facility. I am reporting them to the state. "We are in the middle of the busiest season for wildlife; there are currently so many we are unable to give any information of exactly where they end up. We continue to follow Department of Natural Resources guidelines as required by law, and we are working closely with our licensed rehabilitators to save every animal that we can. Thank you for your understanding and your help! -Bo"

!Had to make a difficult decision today. We decided to let our bearded dragon, Clifford, go today. He was suffering from a prolapse cloaca and wasn't showing any signs of improvement. Instead of spending more money (with no guarantee the condition would improve) and continuing to watch him suffer, we made the decision to have him euthanized. He felt no pain during the process and left peacefully. I will say this though, I would advise anyone looking for an exotic pet vet to avoid Avian & Exotic Animal hospital at ALL COSTS! They have absolutely NO empathy and are only interested in siphoning as much money out of people as they can while playing on their emotions! These people were very passive aggressive, incompetent, nasty, rude, pushy, and unwilling to be accommodating. A couple of times I had to hold back from totally unleashing on them and cussing them all the way out and dragging them due to their level of disrespect and gaslighting

Amazing customer service!! The doctor was very understanding and supportive. We had to take our guinea pig in after hours as an emergency, the process was very easy. They even followed up the next day to check on her.

One of the best experiences I’ve had with any veterinarian. They helped out our rabbit and everything was super simple. Everyone we interacted with was kind and friendly. I’ll include a bonus picture of the patient.

Brought my leopard gecko in to have a prolapsed hemipenes fixed, they were quick, friendly, and the price i paid for them to help my baby was very reasonable. Thank you all so much for taking care of him. It means the world to me!
