Tired of getting wet mail. Hobart mail carriers cannot close a mailbox. I asked the carrier to please close my box after they open it. I have called and ask the supervisor to ask the carriers to close my box. Does no good. Because they are not capable of closing what they opened. I have two mail boxes in Hobart and it happens at both locations. I am done asking ... just gonna file a complaint with the Post Master. Pitiful service. Guess I was asking too much of them. If I would have done my job this poorly I would have been fired and so should these carriers.01/13/2023 Update.... Another box full of wet mail. Thanks Hobart Post Office! Carriers can open mail box but to lazy to close mailbox... result is more wet mail.01/21/2023 UpdatE… MORE WET MAIL! Carrier refuses to close the mail box door. The door is not spring loaded, carrier MUST manually close mailbox door!

The male attendant that worked the front desk this past Saturday was rude and had a very bad attitude!! He does not need to work with the public if he doesn’t know how to treat people with respect maybe he should be a stocker at Walmart or something that doesn’t involve actual customer service!! He basically threw my mail at me because I came in the exit side of the line!! I’m like really!! You that angry, you need to pray and start your day over again! Because next time it may go another way!

All of these negative reviews regarding the counter staff's rudeness and still no change. This was my first time as a new resident at this Hobart post office and I will definitely be going elsewhere. Staff won't even mutter a hello and are very short& condescending when asked a question regarding envelopes& passports. Especially the lady named Bonnie or Bobbie who handled passports the afternoon of Jan 27,2022. Mgmt really needs to give these miserable workers a pep talk or send them on their way.

Tried to track my missing mail - 2 checks, one to be delivered within Hobart. The check that was mailed from my Hobart address & was delivered within Hobart took 12 days to be delivered. It took 2 inquiries on the USPS website to get an answer. First inquiry, I was told they would call back & they never did so I had to put in a second inquiry a week later. When I asked how it could happen that mail delivered within the city could be so delayed, I was told she didn’t know because she didn’t know what sorting facility it would have been sent to in order to look into the matter. Google tells me that each post office in the US is serviced by a specific sorting facility, so she would have known EXACTLY which facility it went to, but she didn’t care to look into it - you know, her JOB. My mortgage check is just missing. Today marks about 3.5 weeks since it was picked up (First Class Mail says a 1-5 business day delivery window, which would have accounted for a delivery date of the 7th). I had to make sure I had enough to cover a full second payment so I could pay online to avoid late fees while still preparing for the possibility the mortgage company would receive & cash the check. A stop pay costs $35, & the USPS has no interest in reimbursing me for the charge I’ll have to pay for their incompetence - there is no incentive for them to ensure accuracy. I was told that instead of utilizing the service I’m entitled to as a US citizen for the cost of my stamps, I should also spend my time & money to drive all my payments to the post office & pay an extra $3 per envelope for a tracking number, so they would at least know where to look. However, in reviewing countless USPS customer reviews on TrustPilot, all a tracking number will do is allow you to know where your mail disappeared. The USPS will not do anything past that. Many people were upset that their mail had been in the same location for months, with no estimated delivery date in sight. The same complaints indicate that the added insurance they up sell you will also do nothing as they were also not reimbursing people for lost packages. Average USPS salary is over $60k, by the way - with government benefits! I say, boycott the USPS & let them all get regular jobs where they’re at least more likely to be paid based on performance & effort. I didn’t want to switch to mobile payments, but this may have been the final straw.

Zero starsThe male mail attendant that was at the front counter was very rude and provoked me , he was condescending . He argued with me over some dam tape!I will never step foot in this post office again. The sad part is that i’ve never ever had an issue with the post office and he was always nice to me the many times in the past. I’m not sure if the attendeant was having a bad day but he was just downright nasty ? .

Snotty useless people behind the counter. If this was a business it would have folded immediately. Do not use this post office. Portage is not that far.

The worst post office ever. I never heard of priority mail gets their boxed taped etc. and regular mail that’s being sent gets nothing. I have to buy their roll of tape for 3.99 instead of them helping their customers. I would never go back again. Oh yeah, all the staff have VERY SNOTTY ATTITUDES.

Very poor attitude of the staff behind the counter. Have seen packages dropped on multiple occasions, even after being marked fragile moments before. Do not recommend.

I called and called and called automated and no live person answer the phone I am extremely upset my mail was delivered and opened by someone else it was medical information and I NEED ANSWERS FROM A LIVE PERSON

This review is about the staff inside the Hobart Post Office. Every time I have been there, the workers have been very friendly and helpful, especially Josh. He goes above and beyond to help and truly cares about people.
