Beautiful, well maintained neighborhood park in Greenwood, IN, one would love to go frequently for a morning walk or an evening stroll with dear ones. Basketball ground was active with local boys playing and kids in swings and slides. Separate pathway for walkers around the park gives a feeling of venturing into a dense forest with tall trees around playing hide and seek game with the setting Sun. No trespassing, no vehicles on the pathway. Vast area for vehicle parking and rest rooms are added features. One can enjoy personal moments at no cost.

Absolutely beautiful park. Feels like you're far away from any city. The kids there are all respectful and kind. Parents seem to be nice as well.

A paved ring path surrounding a small wooded patch with great views of suburban backyards on one side and swampy forest on the other.

Payed money for the dog park, been there 3 times and the electronic entry gate always malfunctions. The last time I was there, got locked inside and couldn't get out! They had to send someone from Greenwood to open the gate! Could be safety issue if someone had a medical emergency.

I love coming to this park, but it seems like the keycard system needs some work. I've made 2 trips there in the last month with the dog and couldn't even get in to play. I know this is controlled by Greenwood Parks department, but this is the only place I could write a review about it. PLEASE fix it!!

Picturesque park in the middle of suburbia. You will feel like you are walking in a secluded forest, but this small piece of paradise is tucked between many homes in a suburban neighborhood. The locals clearly enjoy the trails for morning walks (with or without a canine companion). The paved trails are well maintained. There is a basketball court, large playground, pavilion (with a charcoal grill), restrooms, and plenty of parking spots. We enjoyed a nice walk on the trails. We will definitely return.

Beautiful park with lots of amenities! There is a basketball court, a field, a volleyball net, a pool, and a park for kids. There are even walking trails along the park.

This park is more than meets the eye. The front part, where you first enter, isn't much to see. I mean, it's beautiful -- there's lots of grass and open fields, a lovely amphitheater, lots of flowers and benches under shady trees -- but kids don't care about that. Kids want playgrounds, and fortunately, University Park indeed has a playground. And the playground is pretty awesome. You need to drive a little through the park to get to it, but once you do, you'll see giant play structures with lots of slides, bridges, fireman poles, monkey bars, swings, rock walls and lots more. The playground area has wood chips on the ground for a soft landing. There's an indoor restroom right next to the playground too, and a water fountain. Just beyond the playground, you'll see signs pointing out different hiking paths. We walked into the woods and came across all kinds of beautiful nature, as well as bridges. This is a great place to take an easy walk or hike with kids. For the doggies, there's a little dog park here (Four Paws Dog Park), with some agility equipment and lots of room to run. The whole dog park is securely fenced and gated. University Park is another great park in Greenwood!

Solid park, good toys for the kids to play on, park benches, a picnic area with overhead cover and a bathroom that is open 1MAY to 31OCT. Lots of space for kids to run and be crazy, a woods nearby for adventures and a dog park next door.

This is an okay park for what it is. Playground is on the smallish side for a park of this size, and there is only one full-size basketball court. And the fencing at/around the dog park has a few areas that dogs 30#s and under would try to and may be successful slipping through, and it doesn’t have a full dog agility course, only 2 random obstacles on one side of the dog park. Also along the paved trails there are quite a few places where water run-off/drainage creates large puddles across the paved trails, along with resulting mud that’s impossible to transverse without stepping in. It does have a decent length of paved trails in it, and the trails go through various settings (wooded, open fields, around small ponds, etc.), which is nice as nowadays that’s not always a given in a lot of parks around. It’s in the middle of a large neighborhood so there is always quite a bit of car traffic around the park. All in all, it’s decent for what it is, but due to its amenities, you’d be very hard pressed to be able to spend more than 1 hour there unless involved in a pick-up basketball.

For an official Greenwood Park University Park is in a very odd place - right in the middle of a housing development. Heading east on Main St after going under I-65 you turn right into The Homecoming at University Park. Go straight and boom - there's the park. It offers a large open green space area, paved tree covered trails that loop around retaining ponds where you can see families of little duckies in the spring. There's a nice g CG overestimate picnic area beside the fenced in playground and a basketball court. The oddest thing about this park is the fact the walking trail butts up to the backs of ppls homes. So, you're out there hiking around looking at nature and the home dwellers are hanging out a few feet from the trail, cooking out, doing yard work, yelling at the young ones etc....

This park is located at the entrance of a major subdivision. It is huge. It is said to be 40 acres and has two sections. The front section consists of one of the most beautiful lakes in Indianapolis, a large field area with a few benches, an amphitheater, and a dog park (for members only). The back part has a basketball court and a huge playground area. It is also the backside of the dog park, but that area is not accessible from there. The final amenity back there is a pavilion that is available to rent. The lake has a beautiful teal color and has large concrete slabs that you can sit on and enjoy its beauty. The front section of the park where the flags are is known as reflection plaza. It has some benches that you can sit and is meant as a place where you can sit and reflect. The dog park called Four Paws, looks nice but you need to have a membership to use it. The Chandler Amphitheater is very small and not covered, meaning it is wide open to the elements. It has stone stadium seating and has the lake as its backdrop. Reflection Plaza, including the amphitheater is available to rent. In the back, the basketball court is decent. The court could use a fresh coat of paint or some resurfacing, but the rims have nets and it is better than most backyard courts. The playground, which has a forest theme, is awesome. It is one of the biggest jungle gyms I have seen. It is very impressive. There are also swings and a seasonal bathroom facility back there as well. Both sections have adequate parking and they both are interconnected with 2 trails, the Benjamin Trail and the May Apple Trail. The trails are well paved and are in good shape. They can be used for hiking, jogging or walking. I really liked this park and enjoyed my visit. It has tons to do and even giving its location I still found it very peaceful and soothing. The development, Homecoming at University Park, is very lucky to have it. I will definitely be back soon.
