I was a faithful Skillman customer....7 time customer to be exact between all locations. I purchased a 2022 Ford Explorer that was "Gold Certified" meaning this passed a 172 point inspection. Bought on a Saturday afternoon and on Sunday heard metal noises hitting on the side of the car, noticed every single screw and plastic holder was missing out of both rear fendors, a popping noise when I would reverse when the wheel was turned and a gash in the middle tread on the rear tire on the driver side. I followed up Monday because they were closed on Sunday. Took it in and thought they were looking at the noises but just the screws were put back in. So waited for a loaner and no loaner vehicle so waited for a week or so until one finally was available. I was told by a couple people that the car sits on the lot after inspection so when test driving stuff can happen? Ok I understand the floor mats in the front missing due to something like that but all that other stuff? Just doesnt happen even on a test drive , screws and all these noises just dont happen. The rear had been hit which is why all of these issues were there and I could tell by the carfax they gave me and dent in the bumper but again passed this stringent inspection. I took it back in granted these noises and stuff were present when we drove it around the day after purchase. The noise of the metal you couldnt hear until about 40 Mph and the backing up noise from the suspension the wheel had to be turned etc. so a normal test drive not on a highway, a consumer doesnt hear and heck it just had an inspection so shouldnt have to worry. Got a call after inspection this time and there was a loose piece of metal underneath, both CV joints had to be replaced and would put the tire on for free but had to buy the tire. Every single issue is on the inspection checklist and passed all of these inspections? Here is what the inspection checklist is.
16. Body and Suspension Squeaks and Rattles- Didnt Pass
66. Carpet, Floor Mats- Front ones missing
152. Normal Tire Wear- Chunk flapping on tread
147. Universal Joints, CV Joints and CV Joint Boots- Had to replace when they got it into the shop for the second time.
If I had the car a week then called I would say shame on me and I should have contacted sooner. I did next business day so no excuse. Was told they replaced the CV joints under the warranty....oh the same bad CV joints that should have been changed during the inspection. They lost a great customer. Wouldnt give a star but my salesperson is awesome and I bought 3 cars from him alone.

I got an unsolicited text message to set up an appointment for a recall. Which I appreciate cause it needed done. Set up the appointment at 9am got there at 8 am to get my vehicle worked on. Was told it would take an hr. I come out at 11 to ask about it and the service person (Dwayne) got mad because he was under the notion that I was just dropping off an leaving. After asked him where the waiting room was. If he would of said hey sorry I misheard you rather then accusing me of lying. The vehicle didn't even got touched. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

The attention to us as a customer started the second we step into the parking lot. We were greeted by Chase, who was very nice and not the stereotypical pushy salesman. He gave us a tour of what Skillman had to sell on new vehicles. We then proceeded to the pre-certififed lot where we met Theres Oheame. This all leads to the best sales experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. Theresa knew every detail of the Ford explorer we purchased! She showed us all the functions and information on all the "bells & whistles " for this vehicle. Theresa explained to us the amazing specifications of the Gold certified warranty that is provided by Ford, making this a complete worry free purchase. It didn't end there. There was then Derrick Day working the financial details out. His knowledge of the available rates and lenders made shopping for the loan a non stressful one. I can not stress enough my appreciation of the friendly staff along with Theresa and Derrick for doing such an amazing job and getting me into this beautiful vehicle.

If I could give a lower score I would. I have owned Fords most all of my life. My 2022 f350 had problems with the connection to my phone and 2 tires had cuts in them from the day I bought it new. The manager of the service department and the staff have been lazy and disrespectful. They did replace 1 tire and 10k miles later replaced the ither one. After 2 years of dealing with them I ended up going to another dealer and had the APM module replaced and when that didn't fix it they then replaced the microphone and that seems to have fixed it. Ray Skillman said they would never be able to get either part as they were on back order and I should never expect it to be fixed.

What a great buying experience! I was searching far and wide for an Explorer Timberline, planning to trade-in my F-150.
