I am a landlord and, over the past 50 years, I have spent TONS of time and money in this store, but never again.
I rented a carpet cleaner from them, used it, carefully cleaned it and returned it the next day. Tyler, who had rented it the previous day had warned me about the $20 “cleaning fee” so I carefully cleaned the machine before returning it - only to have Tyler tell me that I had to pay the $20 fee because it wasn’t clean enough. I took it home, cleaned it some more - using dish detergent this time - and returned it to the store again (my third trip in two days) and, this time Rachel was behind the counter. She also told me I’d need to pay the $20 cleaning fee. When I said “Show me the dirt” she pointed to a 1/2”piece of string on the floor next to the machine. This time, I took the machine back to my truck and just sat there for 5 minutes, brought the machine back into the store and Rachel did her re-inspection, but said nothing to me. When I asked her for her decision, she curtly said it was still “a little dirty” but she reluctantly let me go without paying the extra $20. I have to wonder how many other people have paid the phony fee rather than argue and how much this store collects in so called “cleaning fees.”
If you think the machine was spotless when I rented it, you would be wrong. It was “reasonably” clean - but not nearly as clean it was when I returned it. I wish h I had taken “before” and “after” photos to protect myself.
After this experience, I will NEVER shop at this store again. I am fortunate to have much better options with Home Depot and Lowe’s stores which are nearby.

Great deals on wildlife food as well as dog and cat food. My territory here is the pet isle. Great prices on animal food and feral cats enjoy food from here. Even wildlife food makes wild deer come into a neighborhood!

Had a great experience renting a pick-up truck last minute on a weekend when other similar retailers had no trucks available. The 75 minute cost was also competitive. The manager Kenny and team were polite, courteous, and got is in and out in no time. Would highly recommend!

Some of the employees I worked with were so so, but there were 2 employees that deserve a mention for their excellent customer service. There was a girl in pet food that went to the back of the store to find some clear hummingbird feed that had just come off of the truck. Then there was a young man with dreadlocks in the lumber yard that was wonderful and went above and beyond to help with loading lumber from thr 2nd story and then helped us finish up with what we needed in the yard.

I like going to Menards I’ve been going for a long time at times when we lived in Illinois that was the only thing that was close. I like the rebate and I can find everything I need and the price is good.

I love Menards!! I dont understand why we can't bring our pets in. Most pet owners are responsible enough to take care of any messes. You could put little bags around the store for just in case. People who have to leave their animals in the car are in more of a rush. They would be able to browse longer and possibly spend more. Just a thought.

I am probably at menards more than I'd like to admit. I've always had amazing service when going. This past visit made me so upset. Went for a garage shelf. They were out of stock on the floor, but I had an employee check to see if any were in the back. After being told they had 14 in stock someone would go get one for me. I waited for about 30 minuets until a different employee cake up to me and asked if I've been helped. At this point, I'm frustrated. I'm a very patient person, but I was annoyed. So this second employee who helped me was super nice, but kinda disappeared for a minuet before a third employee finally came back to me to inform them they were actually out of stock. After waiting without updates and the service I received, I will no longer go to this menards. Worse experience I've ever been through. If someone had just come back up after realizing it wasn't in stock, I would have been 45 minutes to get any type of answer is ridiculous.

I have been using Menards for years. One of the few companies that I feel still provides the full package; great selection, great pricing, and most importantly, top notch customer service. I will continue to use them so long as they continue thier stellar service.

I've worked at Menards for almost 6 years. It has its ups and downs, just like every job, but for the most part,it's a really good job and Mr. Menard takes care of his employees.

Nice place. I like shopping here, and even just looking around is great. I did not like it during Covid, they were very strict and one employee yelled at me because my mask was not covering my nose, but I looked around and the employees didn't cover their noses, I'm a little upset from that experience.
