In my opinion, no business should associate itself with religion. They use it to try and elevate their appearance and make them seem more trustworthy/ethical. I used them consistently for about a year and a half and their practices are very shady. First, they have a minimum labor cost for anything. I obviously never had them change my cabin or engine filter but when they quote it for you expect a $90 labor charge for both if you opt for it. They do this for other small jobs that only take 5 minutes tops too. Second, when they do a standard inspection on your car expect them to quote you unnecessary items "based on mileage". They like to word it like this to make you think you aren't doing all the routine maintenance the manufacturer suggests. For example, the car I took to them had slightly over 50,000 miles and they tried to tell me they needed to inspect my rear drum brakes that are rated for around 100,000 miles. However, the bigger issue I had was that they wanted to charge me $100 just to take the tires off and inspect them (I had all my brakes inspected for free 2 weeks after this). Lastly, they think all the work they do has been blessed by a deity and attack you when you even suggest that the quality of work they have done was not up to par. I had an issue with a part they replaced during the first year I was going to them, and it failed 12 months later. I suggested that this could have been a failure on their part, and he flat out refused and threw every excuse at me that he could (Ex. The roads are bad around here.) But it gets even worse! They didn't tighten all of the lug nuts correctly on my front tires and completely forgot to put 1 back on. I didn't notice this and two weeks later when I had my tires replaced the tire shop mentioned that I was missing a lug nut and that the last place didn't tighten the lug nuts correctly. Also, their loyal customer tag that you put on your keychain, and you get $5 off every time is pointless. I noticed after I had paid and questioned him about the quality of work done that my $5 was not applied to my bill. I asked him to correct this, and he flat out refused and said he would mail it to me instead. This was around 5 months ago, and I never received anything as I expected.

We were fairly new in town. Came here for a weird vibration/puttering thing when ever my car would idle or accelerate from idling. They claimed to have drove it around and could never replicate the issue. However, they were quick to try and upsell me ($$$$$$$) on new brakes, new secondary battery, and some other work that I didn’t want. I wound up taking my car to a different repair shop for a second opinion. Turns out it was a spark plug and coil issue. The issue was 1/8 of the cost they were trying to charge me. INSANE.

Thank you.
Christian brothers automotive of greenwood indiana. My son and daughter in-law were heading home to Columbus Ohio from Evansville Indiana. They had a mechanical break down 2.5 hrs from home and at night. Luckily, they were close to your shop where they dropped it off after hours and continued home in their other vehicle. You got the vehicle in and fixed the problem quickly and at a affordable price. The extra mile service came when you noticed not one but damaged tires. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We checked them before they left and didn't notice anything wrong. You found and fixed what could have caused a bad accident. You guys are a tremendous example of what a automotive repair facility should look like.
Very Grateful
Shane Gray

I came here back in late March, maybe early April to get a wheel taken off of my car because I was trying to have my wheels replaced and the other shop could not get it off. While I appreciate them squeezing me in, I do not appreciate their work ethic.
I was told that it would cost $800 just to take my wheel off and have them put it back on. To my knowledge, they had to get a whole new wheel bearing kit and it took them a few hours. I understand the price of labor and my car sucks, but this is unreasonable.
When I went back to the guy who recommended me here and we told him how much it was, he was astonished. He had been recommending people there for years and had never heard of anything like it. When we told him what they did to my car, he was very confused as there were other ways to handle the issue. He looked up the parts it should have taken and they were all in stock around Indianapolis. When a shop does not have something in stock to deal with a specific issue, they send people to go get parts, which they did do with my car also. But they did not get the parts it should have taken to fix it. Instead, they got a whole new wheel bearing kit which was NOT needed. This just sounds like lazy work to me. Don't waste your money with these guys. I will never come here again, nor will my tire guy ever recommend someone here again.

Christian brothers gave me support, resources, and patience. Their completion times are accurate and quick. Their communication is easy and thorough. The office and shop are both well maintained and clean. I cannot speak highly enough about how they helped me when I was in a rough patch.

I was told about the diagnostic charge after committing to have my car repaired here. That may have been an oversight by someone but a costly oversight of $150 added to the original estimate. Although, my car was repaired satisfactorily at a clean and well maintained, professional auto shop, I was disappointed on my second visit. This time, they decided that I needed new spark plugs which I did not ask for to go with my new alternator install. Spark plugs on a Camry are good for 100,000 miles or at tuneup. My car has just over 140,000 miles, so the plugs were had just over 40,000 miles on them. And by the way, they did not know that I am aa aviation mechanic myself. Therefore, this is one of those shop that will take advantage of those who are not well rehearsed on the automotive systems repair. So, we will seek auto repairs. Before you commit to their service, do your research online, then ask the technician question about the repair(s) being made. As for me, there will not be a third time, because I'll seek service elsewhere.

Like other reviews I am reading before leaving this, Christian Brothers failed to do due diligence. They provided a lackluster "diagnosis" of my car's issue that was about as detailed as saying "your car isn't working", and then charged me $150 for it yet they never even moved my vehicle out of the parking space and into the bay to determine the specific issue. They just observed my pedal not working, (told me what I already knew), and then quoted me close to $3,000 for a full clutch repair and did not bother to ask about or look into any warranties still valid on my vehicle.
Towed it to the dealership 10 mins away, got a DETAILED diagnosis for $50 less, told me the exact part that went bad (slave cylinder) and replaced it for $1,100 LESS, and looked into my warranties and fought for me and got the repair down to $1k! TWO GRAND LESS.
I will never return to Christian Brothers Automotive, as their lack of effort could've costed me an unneccesary $2K out of my pocket.
PS. I was referred to them by CarMax, but they never even bothered to offer a discount or ask about my warranty through Carmax. The dealership asked first thing.
