We were late in arriving and the doors were locked. In the middle of our calling customer service for a solution the one working employee came out. She was willing to help and get us our car. Saved Christmas since we can now drive to see family.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was racially profiled as soon as I came in the door. I have been renting from this location in greenwood for years and never had the problems that I faced the most recent time. The lady that usually works there has always been great. But, when I went to rent a vehicle recently the girl, Zoey, was very rude and had the nastiest attitude. She couldn’t have had experience in customer service. Also, after returning my vehicle they charged me full price for the vehicle a second time and did not refund my deposit. That is the last time I will ever rent with Avis. Go there at your own risk. And if you’re African American or anything other than Caucasian you will be treated unfairly. Good luck.

The SUV drove great but the plates were expired. Didn't realize it till we got where we were going. When we got back we told them about it. Other than that the SUV and service was great.

They will not pick you up over 5 miles the Columbus, Indiana office is not open very often the greenwood, Indiana office the guy that works there has a really bad attitude and will start throwing stuff on the counter towards you the customer if you tell him that you want to do a walk around inspection and will tale you if you say anything he doesn't like he will call local authorities and either take the car he picks out for you take it or leave it they're just a bad rental car company I will never use them again.

Car being reserved a week in advance, no headlight, no wash, but no replacement available either. I had to keep it to make my trip. 2 day rental but only received $25 credit

I wish I could leave a zero for stars, I registered online to pick my vehicle up so I could start my vacation for my daughter's birthday, I get to the location they don't have a chip reader in my card won't scan in their old scanner, the lady refused to type my card in I don't understand why I had all the information approved on the internet, Avis is time to invest in a chip reader.

I went in to verify my reservation and found out that even though it said one thing when I reserved and paid online the hold amount is different than I was told during this visit! I find it confusing that if you prepay for your rental car that Avis will do a $250 hold on your card, but if you reserve online and pay at the counter at pick up that they only do a $200 hold on your card! You would think that if you prepaid online that the hold would be less! The gentleman at the counter 1st told me that he didn't know anything about the $200 hold amount, then suddenly said that amount was only if you came in and paid and was unable to explain to me why it's more if you prepay. Also, according to them the hold is anywhere from 3 to 10 days before it even comes back off your card...I will pick up my rental in 5 days so I will see when the $250 hold comes back off my card! It'll be a shame if it takes 10 days considering I will return the rental car approx. 5 hours later at a different location, board a plane and leave the country! Knowing when that amount would be back in my account would be extremely helpful, not given a 7 day difference of when it COULD be!

I reserved a 12 passenger van on 12.28.22 for our family spring break trip in March 2023. 48 hours prior to our trip, I get a text message that they will not have the vehicle I reserved, but they could get me 2 cars instead. That was their only way of trying to help. They apologized, but an apology won't get my family to our destination. The individuals I spoke with could care less and had no intention of attempting to assist my family and I.

First car they gave me had no brakes, and tire was almost flat. Went to trade it in the lady tried to lock the door on meSecond car they gave me was very dirty and wrecked. They charged my bank card 4 time’s for 1 rental. Plus the deposit. Told me it will take 3 weeks for me to get my money back that they over charged me

I was initially drawn to avis for their discount for healthcare workers and appreciative for a discount during the times of covid and I thought my hard work had been recognized. I absolutely regret my decision and I will never rent through Avis again. I prepaid for a car for my parents back in January of 2022, during covid, and 11 months later, my parents go to the Greenwood, IN Avis to pick up their car and they are told they can't. For security reasons, their daughter (with the same last name and same address) is not allowed to prepay for a car and put the reservation in my father's name. My parents had to sit in the parking lot for over an hour waiting to try and pick up a car that was pre-paid for them. They are told to talk with the Greenwood, IN supervisor. She does nothing to help them and sends them to Avis customer service. One lady answers the phone initially, then they get sent to the customer service supervisor, Freddy, and he did absolutely nothing to help them pick up their car. I was even willing to come and show my ID (again with the same address and name as my parents) to pick up this car and Freddy says there's nothing that they can do to get a rental. They were trying to charge my parents double the amount that I had already pre-paid for them, just to pick up their car today. I'm convinced that Avis is a scam and I can assure you, we will NEVER be renting a car through Avis again.
