My husband and I purchased a car from Gates of Granger 6.26.2023. When the car was delivered to us the car had a horrible smell. Advised at that time they did not have time to adequately clean the car (yet it was delivered to us). Sales manager stated that they would send it out to have the car detailed. I expressed at that time, how could I be confident that the car went through a through inspection. I was advised that I have all the confidence in our service department. Today, 9.12.2023 took car to Gates on McKinley and advised that we needed a new car filter and cabin filter. The cabin filter was black as tar. My husband purchased a new cabin filter from Auto Zone for 19.99. I called Gates of Granger seeing reimbursement for the price of the cabin filter and Mike ( Service Manager) said. I'm not going to give you 19.99 for a filter. You had the car since 6.26.2023. You must have driven on dusty roads. This car had not been thoroughly check on the initial inspection, there is no way a filter should look like tar. We drove on paved road... Definitely not a happy customer. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for compensation on something that was obviously overlooked in the initial inspection.

My daughter bought her car here! Everyone was great! Not pushy & best thing is every car off the lot has a lifetime drive train warranty.

So very frustrated. Long story short, we bought a van just after it was traded in. Doors and windows were messed up and it was put in the initial agreement that Gates would fix them. Door alarm constantly buzzed, windows vibrated and made noises. They finally, after several trips out there, fixed the door (well, the buzzing...now they randomly wont latch shut). It's been in for the windows and doors 4 TIMES now IN 3 MONTHS and this time they told me that it's been 3 months so they wont keep trying to fix it, even though they agreed to do so and never did. I asked exactly what they did for the driver window and he said they lubricated it one time, that was it! I have no idea what they did the other 3 times!The sales manager told me today that since his team couldn't pinpoint the problem to take it to another shop and have them see if they can figure it out, then go back to Gates and he would split the cost with me for them to "fix" it!Texted our salesman (who had been cool until now) that we want a copy of the agreement, and he told me that I was crying about every little thing with this van and "there are many people in the world who will never have a car or a window in their car" and to stop acting like a baby because my window makes a noise. He said my actions show who I really am, and there's nothing they can do now after 3 months. This all was supposed to be taken care of 3 months ago and never has been.This was our second vehicle we bought from them; will never, ever buy here again!

Place is a joke. Long story short they were arrogant and rude to my elderly father while trying ti take advantage of him. Had his car for almost a week and did nothing.Go someplace else and save yourself the hassle.

These guys are scammers, they talked my 80 year old grandpa into talking to a service advisor who told him he needed to have his entire air conditioner system replaced in his car- they kept it an entire week, and we called multiple times to find out more information on it and they got annoyed and hostile on the phone saying everything was fine and it was going to be fixed- then they call today and tell him they can't fix it and that his car has been wrecked. Absolutely unprofessional, poor communication skills, and slow service.

This is a great place to go. I was unhappy with my ride and they got me into something and my payments in the place I wanted. Thanks Kyle hooks for all the help. Go see him if your in the market for a new car. The finance team is amazing!!! They have amazing cars as well.

Terrible experience for my brother. He went to get his first car yesterday with no credit history. He sat down and talked with someone who said they were going to put him in a vehicle and did. He signed papers and left with the hat they said was his new car and told him to come back with his proof of address the next day. He went in today with the things they asked for and told him they had to take the vehicle back because they didn’t run the application with the bank and that the bank didn’t approve him. Now why would they not run the application right then and there with the bank? Why would they shake hands and say congratulations on your new vehicle and send him on his way with the new car? I could see if they said he wasn’t approved. Terrible experience.

First time I’d used the service department at the Granger location and it won’t be the last. They were friendly and helpful from the initial phone call to schedule until the completion of work. They fixed my issue quicker than expected and stayed in communication with me during diagnostic. Just a great experience!

First off, they told me that Michigan was behind as far as getting titles and registrations out so I could register my truck. Two WEEKS after my paper plate expired, I called The bureau in Michigan who then told me to call the dealership and ask where they sent the title information at whether it was to Lansing or directly to the Niles BMV. After calling the dealership I find out that they had not even sent my title out yet so it was actually them that was slow not the state of Michigan. THEN I I was told that there would be a warranty on my vehicle because it was under $100,000 miles for 3 years up to 125,000 miles bumper to bumper. I bring it in for some service work and a couple problems with my window and the liner in the bed of the truck as well as a seal on my door only to be told that it may not be covered under the warranty when the salesman sat there and told me everything bumper to bumper was going to be covered so they lied about that. I do not recommend going to ANY Gates dealership¡!!!!!!!!!

The Gates Granger Service staff were polite and receptive to my personal needs. Mary, the service rep, was especially helpful during my visit. She kept me informed of my car's status thru out the day. I fully recommend this dealership and will use this location for all my Equinox services.

Andrew Clays is great! He is great at finding exactly what kind of vehicle that suits you best! The entire team did nothing but make us feel welcome. They played with my kids, and even took care of them while we were signing paperwork. I absolutely recommend Gates of Granger to anyone looking for a new car.
