I try my best to support small, female led businesses when available. I went in & paid $120 for a (supposedly) protective style which was six feed in braids. The braids were acceptable however my head began hurting due to too much hair being used on the braids at the bottom which created unnecessary weight or tension on my natural hair/hairline and poses a risk of damaging such. I respectfully called the shop 30 minutes before they opened the following day to ask if someone could reduce the hair at the end of the braids & was told they're busy & no on else is available until maybe Tuesday (four days later). I'm going to take the braids down & will NEVER patronize them again. In addition these foreigners or Africans/Haitians are the most prejudice that it gets. They have no respect, courtesy or care for Black American women beyond our monetary value that's why it's no "bedside manners" or hospitality in their shops. We have to wake up & continue to support who supports us despite color because it isn't them.

First time going to this braid shop. Contacted Victoria for an appointment. I was able to get in ASAP. Victoria braided my hair. She did an excellent job on my hair. The braids were neat, and she took her time. I will be going back.

Ok let me start off by saying I tried to book at new look African braiding heard they had a new owner I use to go there with the old owners but I saw good reviews new owner Veronica so I made a mistake and booked at Victoria but I’m like hey I’ll give them a try… I regret it the short one Victoria is nice but the older one and the kinda heavyset one is nasty as ever jus so rude and I don’t like my hair they both were tag teaming my head and both jus yanking and pulling me the older one literally grabbed my chest and shoulder area so hard and rough like I wasn’t being pulled in two different directions I will never come back here ever again I’m gonna stick to the African shops in Illinois I cnt believe what I experienced today and the nasty older one really got rough when I paid because the heavyset one asked me to pay since they were half way done no wonder y I was in there all them hours they had not a call and barely any clients n then the heavyset lady was finishing my hair coughing on me with her mouth open just plain nasty

Called this shop because I needed to get my small knotless braids (that weren’t done by them) taken down. Victoria was very quick! It took maybe 30 mins tops. Much faster than I would have ever done. It was not expensive either! Definitely worth it.

This is the weirdest tribe I have ever seen, but overall she did a good job. I really didn't like the way she kept trying to bribe me for more money by lying about the price, and telling me I couldn't use the hair that I bought..(girl really). Just be honest so your customers will return, cus I'm not ?Service: Braids
