Canine Castaways Rescue, Inc. ADOPTING OUT DOG THAT HAS BITE RECORD, ATTACKED ME AND THEY ADMITTED IT....
ATTENTION STRYKER IS RENAMED BUBBA!!!
Get your attack dog, they call sweet, for $400.
ADOPTING OUT DANGEROUS DOGS......
I have PROOF the rescue KNOWS and ADMITS the dog ATTACKED me, yet still has it up for adoption.....while I'm pending a CT SCAN for muscle damage....adopt STRYKER at your OWN RISK. There IS a report at Johnson County Animal Control. The ATTACK happened on March 26, 2024. Because the dog is living out of Johnson Country now, Canine Castaways Rescue, Inc. can do whatever they want with him!!! I've called Shelby county animal control and they can't do anything. This dog attacked and KEPT ATTACKING me until I subdued him. I THREW him off me AT LEAST 3 times and he kept coming back at me to attack. I had to hold him down, collar twisted, until my son brought a cage TO ME.... because every time I let go Stryker came back at me to ATTACK! I have been bit b4 and broken up dog fights many times, never ever have I been ATTACKED like that or even seen a dog in that state! STRYKER IS UNPREDICTABLE AND DANGEROUS. Nothing will change my mind or quiet me. My son saw me get attacked by him and it was traumatic. My friend got here less than 5 min later and found me laying on the floor in pain bleeding. I AM BOXER SAVVY, I've had boxers for 22 years.....It's NOT a boxer thing....it's a VISCOUS DOG thing.
There's proof they know and don't want adopters to know and don't care about me being hurt! I'm not waiting for a CT scan to check for muscle and tissue damage from the bite she claims is "minor" from a report the animal control officer hasn't even completed yet.
BEWARE ADOPTING FROM HERE!!!!! THEY ADOPT BITE AND ATTACK CASES WITHOUT TELLING ADOPTERS!!!!

CCR is amazing! Shell and her crew are passionate about rescuing dogs that otherwise might not have a chance to find a loving home. The love they feel for each and every dog in their care is so obvious. Our girl Birdie came to CCR like so many of their rescues, in need of both medical attention and love. They healed her body and her heart, and taught her how to love and be loved. We were so lucky to find them and our beautiful bulldog Birdie, and so glad to be part of the CCR family!!

We have adopted three dogs from Canine Castaways Rescue. They are an amazing organization. Shell Christine has an amazing heart for animals. We would recommend adopting from them because of the love and care that she has for these animals. This is also our favorite charity.. ❤️❤️❤️

Shelly was great to work with and responded quickly with our adoption paperwork. We were able to pick up our next best friend that weekend. She came with all of her shots, spayed, and microchipped, plus a bag of her dog food. You can tell Shelly loves these dogs and wants them to find their forever home. We still keep in touch and send up dates on baby. We are so thankful for Shelly and her whole team for the love and devotion they put into these “castaways”.

Recently adopted a boxer from this rescue. She was as advertised and more. No complaints and owner seems to keep it all in line despite a lot of work.

I rescued Beretta two years ago from Canine Castaway! To all those leaving bad reviews: You clearly haven’t walked through a government funded pound. They all stink like urine and fecal matter. (Go volunteer)!I would rescue from here again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately the only thing that stops me is Beretta is territorial and this was and is his home first, so “I” won’t trust it because my job is to protect him now, and I would feel terrible to have failed this deserving boy! Thanks again for giving us and Beretta a chance to love one another, we couldn’t imagine life without his quirks!

I adopted an awesome all white male boxer that head heartworm when I adopted him. I was told by the owner that he had been treated for the condition. Lie! Lie! Lie. He also had been neutered 4 days prior to my adoption. What should have been his genital area was replaced by an infection the size of a lemon. The rescue owner needs to be rescued!! Terrible person!!

Saw Tyson on PetFinders for Castaways. He is the most wonderful, loving dog! I've taken him everywhere. He's a big hit at my Mom's Senior Living place, too. Recently, my Mom fell and was in a rehab facility. Tyson would walk in and brighten up everyone's day. The Nurses and older people in wheelchairs would love on him. Most dogs just need a loving home, taught some manners, and provided with some boundaries. All dogs come with medical issues. I would recommend having about $1000-$1500 saved up before adopting a dog/puppy to be able to provide them with the needed medical care. I have always had health insurance for my dogs. The health insurance helps/pays for so much! It even helps pay for flea/tick meds and yearly vaccination shots. It pays to have a dog spayed/neutered and teeth cleaning.Shelly was wonderful to work with! She and her staff have such a big heart for dogs/animals! Through the past 25 years, all of my dogs have been rescue dogs. I would highly recommend adopting dogs and Castaways Rescue!

This is our second adoption from Canine Castaways and would highly recommend! Shelly and her staff work so hard at providing their rescues with love and placements. I am also impressed with the through background checks to be sure these rescues are placed in a good home. Thank you Shelly for all your dedication and love for those that are castaway.

What I was informed about the dog that I adopted was far from truthful. I was told he was house broke and good with other dogs. He is far from house broke and I'm glad I purchased a muzzle before trying to introduce him to my girlfriends little dog.
