They say they’re willing to work with you on payment options but they’re not. I made a payment arrangement with the online chat, but since I didn’t call to tell them that, they shut off my service and won’t turn it back on.

So. Just bought a home in Hoagland and the pole that the meter is attached to is rotten, The previous owners bolted it to the side of home so when it falls it will rip off that side of the house. The meter and everything is attached to this pole and the power company will do nothing to correct this. can I switch companies to one that cares about their customer because clearly this company does not care about their customers at all

very unprofessional. i recently moved and they have made it so hard to change the account holder for the place i was at. major miscommunications. whenever i’ve called to get it straightened out, they’re extremely rude. the person that’s currently living in the residence doesn’t have power because these people are terrible at communicating and keep changing the reason why so it’s impossible to get figured out. indiana michigan power doesn’t care about people at all, they just want your money. Sabrina is so rude and needs to get a new job bec clearly she’s miserable working here. if leaving no stars was an option i’d do that instead

We live in East Texas and had a bad storm come through the night on June 15th 2023. We've been without power ever since. Trees down everywhere! Today, crews from your company got our power restored! We can't thank them enough for their hard work in this heat!

Wow. This is the worst experience ever. We have been on and off the phone with this company for the last few weeks. There is a billing glitch in their system and they will not accept a payment from me. AEP asked for an invoice showing that our bank account was open and active. I emailed a copy of this information (which is kind of a breach of trust) and still a payment was rejected. This was the second time a rejected payment was made and now my account has $40 of charges that are not my fault. No one has said that these will be removed (and they are not removed) and now I am required to pay them at a Walmart in cash. The worst part is that I have called more than 10 times. I have been hung up on at least twice. There is no brick and mortar to speak to someone live and every representative wants to know the root cause. *Does your system have a section for 'notes' and why is that not being used. It seems there is no checks and balances and since they own our meter they have a monopoly. Which also does not allow me to move to a new provider (I did call a second provider!...)Hopefully this reaches someone that can resolve the issues here

My electric bill for December was &600. My electric bill is normally $250. I had presently been switched to a digital meter so obviously that was the problem. I also in December had gotten all new appliances for my kitchen and replaced our hot water heater from the 70s to a tankless hot water heater so you would have thought my bill would have went down. I called in about it and they came out and turned my electric on and off twice . I don't know how that fixes anything. My bill in January was then $423 and now in March it's back to 250. Do My advices to everyone is to never change to digital cause you will regret it cause they are a rip off¡!!!

There are no competitors, so you have to go through them. They have a ludicrous rule that you have to give them a high deposit to start service. If you "miss a payment" then they reset the clock for the 12 months necessary to get your deposit back. They claim I didn't make the payment, despite have the check carbon here showing I mailed it in 3 weeks ago. Nothing they could do. Then the lady refused to work with me and let me speak with her superior and hung up on me. Horrible service, stupid rules, high prices, and no competitors. Corrupt for sure.

A joke. Had service almost 2 years with zero issues. Disconnected service 0n 3/3 for 67 dollars with no notice mind you. Cmon man. How petty ?

As a renter, Indiana Michigan power has made it super easy to move from address to address and pay our bills online. Nothing but good things to say about the service we have gotten with them. Setting up an account over the phone did take a long time at first, but once you have an account, the rest is very easy

This company is the best representation of a monopoly. Being the only provider in the area they continue to overcharge customers. I was given billing information from the year prior and I am being charged 3x of the previous tenant. To the tune of roughly $100 more. I anticipate my billing to be over $300 this summer. I was told the previous tenants bill was so low due to the meter being broken then was verified by a higher up that the meter was in fact not broken with no explanation as to why my billing was so much higher. This company is a monopoly and needs to be stopped.

I cannot believe the level of the lack of help at AEP. Our meter is broken and they want to charge us $40-60 just to have someone come out to check it. They blame our landlord and say it’s their responsibility when in reality AEP is the one who set everything up separately. For a two bedroom apartment, they say we used over 2,500kWh with a $501 charge when our next door neighbor was only charged $79 for the month!!! The AEP manager on the phone (Ms. Jordan) said that it was accurate and gave us useless advice on heater usage and other things even though I’ve repeatedly said we turned off our heaters and lights throughout the day. For a single income household of three, I’m looking to change our electric company. Shame on AEP!!!

Constantly hangs up on you. Turns off your power when your bill is paid. Then tells you that it will be 3 to 5 business day's before they can turn your power back on. Horrible service.

Terrible company . Came and turned off my power by accident because they got confused with neighbors. Bad costumer service was on hold for over an hour. This company has mixed up our service with our neighbors multiple times and never apologizes. Do not recommend.

Been without power for 2 months, but getting charged for it anyway! Called them three times, each time I wait about 30 minutes and get transferred to energy consumption that has no direct line and then the call gets dropped.
