I ordered my a brand new phone online to pick up in store. Supposed to be a quick, easy transaction.
When I arrived I had a small wait until an associate could retrieve my device, which is understandable. However, I was given an opened box, where the phone slid out of the damaged box. When I told the associate, that I was not taking this, and to give me a new one, regardless of why the box was opened, he informed me I had to go to the mother store, on green river road. He said it was likely because they opened the box to show a customer the color or they got as far as the credit card being declined and had to take it back from the customer. This was an unacceptable answer. I could care less why it was opened, I ordered a brand new device, I want a brand new device.
Two days later, with the unactivated phone in hand, I went to the green river store to return/exchange the device & they informed me that because it came out of the Burkhardt inventory they had to replace it. The associate at Green River called the Burkhardt location and told him he had to exchange it. So back to burkhardt Verizon to do the transaction I requested from the beginning. After waiting for the other customers to be waited on, my patience was gone.
They wanted ME to mail the phone back via UPS. No way, this is not my problem this is a TCC issue. I refused to take the phone and demanded the entire transaction be canceled. After 2 hours, my transaction was successfully canceled. I was infuriated that this was supposed to be an easy convenience as an online order. The poor guy took a beating with my words because I was not leaving until this was settled.
For the sugar on top, I was robbed of my date-night I was supposed to have with my husband to deal with this TCC store mess up.
Very dissatisfied with this encounter. Who in their right mind orders a brand new device, and is given one that is clearly opened, box is falling apart and is okay with it?
TCC you have some work to do on what is appropriate to sell to customers.
