We went to Pet Food Center today. They were giving out flowers to kids to give to their moms for Mother Day and the kids could decorate the pot with stickers. The lady asked my 4 year old son if he’d like to give a flower to mom. My son is autistic. He covered his ears and was anxious. We kindly told her we would try in a little bit after we look at the animals. We come back, we put his headphones on to help him not be so anxious, she turned around to greet us again and immediately said “Oh..” and turned away from us. His dad and I encouraged him to decorate the flower pot at the table she was sitting at and she turned her back to us and ignored us the rest of the time. As if she was so offended by him. He is anxious and scared around new people and places. It had nothing to do with her. I think your stores would benefit from being more educated on autism and special needs children to provide a more welcoming environment. My son didn’t deserve to be ignored. He deserves to be understood and feel welcomed.

I shop here all the time and have never had any issues until today. They currently have 3 cats up for adoption up near the front of the store and I was genuinely upset to see the state of the cage. The litter box was so unmanaged, there wasn't even any diggable litter, it was literally FULL of urine and feces. no clean water. poop smeared all over the one bed in the cage. the black kitten needs medical attention ASAP, he is covered in feces and litter, unable to groom himself, and has a raw backside that looked bloody. My partner and I immediately brought this to the staff's attention, who were busy talking and laughing near the front of the store. we were told a groomer was coming to take care of it? no.... this cat needs to see a vet and the cage needs cleaned asap. other customers notice what I did and told me they weren't going to do anything. I finished my shopping and saw no one had came over to- at the bare minimum give them a place to use the bathroom- so i opened the cage and started scooping the box myself. it's not a hard task and the cats were crying trying to find a spot that they could dig but it was all clumped together. within 15 seconds we had an employee in our face telling us to get out of the cage and that employees would handle it. I politely said I didn't mind helping since it wasn't being handled. I was asked again to leave. the 4-5 people who were "working", just standing around gossiping apparently couldn't spare 3 minutes to provide basic care to these animals. I left in tears... I was tempted to just adopt all 3 but I already have 3 cats in one apartment. if you're reading this and have room for a cat or 2, or 3, can someone go adopt them? I will literally pay for it

None of the employees know anything about the reptiles they sell. I've worked with 4 different people there trying to figure out why the snake they sold us wasnt eating and wasn't a lively little thing that he was supposed to be. Come to find out my poor little baby had mites. Then after going there and speaking to them multiple different times and doing different treatments to try to help the little guy, he finally passed away. DO NOT BUY AN ANIMAL OF ANY SORT FROM THEM. When the process started I told them he had mites and the animals there needed to be treated. I've been in over and over again and was lied to over and over again by the staff that had no idea what they were doing. I'm waiting on corporate to give me a call and will also be taking it to the better business bureau so hopefully the rest of those poor creatures in that store can get help before they pass away too!

Employees held a Dumbo rat they were selling as a pet to me by the tail. Saying that was the proper way when In fact that causes spinal cord damage to rats. Will not go there again. Employees were rude.

Had a great info session with "Galen" (sp?, sorry) about our families first aquarium. He was very knowledgeable. One of our tiger fish we bought died and we brought it back (you must have water sample too) to figure out what's going on with our tank.He tested it and found out tank was good. He did inform us about how tiger fish "school" though...so that was on us that we didn't acclimate properly. We also got to see a sea anemone and learned about healthy signs when they are floating their appendages should be "puffy". We also learned about tank sizing, proper feeding and LOTS of other stuff.I appreciate locally owned experts who take interest in their jobs and communicate with us who don't know much!Thank you so much for helping us start to develop our new aquatic family members!
