We took a one month family road trip this summer, staying in multiple Holiday Inn Express locations, along with comparable other hotels in this range. This Elkhart North location was our only poor experience the entire trip. When we arrived, the room we had reserved weeks in advance (a suite) was no longer available. However we were still charged the suite rate. The room we were given was a standard room, directly outside the extremely noisy ice machine. The bathroom floor was not clean. Both my husband and I spoke with multiple hotel staff (including finding the time on our vacation to call a few days later as I had been told to do), and yet we never were given a refund for the difference for the room we got from the suite rate we were charged for. The manager I spoke with by phone told me the refund would be provided in 3-5 business days....two months later that still has not happened. Given that we relied heavily upon reviews in selecting accommodations for our trip and the fact that this was our only bad experience in over 4 weeks of lodging, I felt it was worth sharing what we went through.

Great spot! Clean spacious rooms, friendly staff. Fresh breakfast. Comfy beds! Will definitely return!

Very nice, quiet hotel. Breakfast was well stocked. There was a pre-teen female softball team staying there at the same time, so lobby and breakfast was busy, but that did not hinder our service.

SOOO Dirty. This hotel is a true Embarrassment to the Holiday Inn Brand. Dirty bags and napkins from previous guest. Carpet filthy, feet covered in crud walking from bed to bathroom. One towel was not clean. I needed sleep, long road trip or would have left. Just slept on top of bedding. Absolutely disgusting.

I previously vowed not to stay at this hotel again after a disappointing experience, but I decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, this was my last straw. I found bugs in the bed, which is completely unacceptable. I stay here for a week at a time on business, but after this, I will NEVER return. To make matters worse, the manager still charged me for the room despite the unsanitary conditions. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

After being a loyal customer of this location for 3 years. Over the weekend we were treated very rudely. I called to book a room as I always do for the night. Next night we were coming in. I gave them the company I was with and that I get a special rate. The girl on the desk apparently was new. So the new manager got on the phone told me I couldn't have my rate because lacrosse was in town and in order to book a room at a special rate I would need 2 days advance notice. And if I wanted a room it was going to cost me more than double what my rate was. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. They have always even if it was the last room given me the room at my rate. We have never had a complaint about our service animals either from other patrons or the staff. Even the cleaning staff has never complained that there's been a mess in our room. We always leave it very neat and clean to help minimize what staff has to do. And as I told the manager when he told me he only had a few rooms and would not give me a room at my rate. I will never be back to this location again. I was a very good Platinum elite member who spent several days most every month there.
Rooms: We really liked the place but since they switched the whole staff and we were treated so rudely. We will never go back.

Rooms are consistent with the brand and were also clean. Check in process was a little slow but it was late at night.
You can cast to the TV which is terrific since I stream most everything now. Keeps me from having the search channels and watch commercials.
Breakfast was fresh and consistent with the brand.
The hotel is the hardest one to find just due to it's location.

As always great customer service! Check in was excellent. Front desk was always welcoming! Comfortable beds. I slept like a fat turtle ? laying on my back lol! Great breakfast! As always. Semi truck parking! Excellent!!

I would give this hotel all 5 stars, but there was one individual who made myself and guests feel uncomfortable. She works at the front counter and I'm pretty sure her name is Cassandra. Very unpleasant and just seemed like an absolute bother to her. She sat in the lobby and played on her phone, she expressed to one of my colleagues how she likes to eat Skittles(he was buying a bag)when she smokes marijuana. Other than that all the staff was very professional and courteous..And a hats off to Ellie,i think her name is.. she apologized profusely for her coworker...
